Solutions For Jakarta's Air Pollution Problem Ricky Amukti from Traction Energy Asia said the source of the capital city’s pollution problems come from three aspects : transportation, power plants, and waste. "The largest air pollution contributor comes from transportation, which constitutes 50 percent, while 30 percent come from the West Java and Banten coal fired power plant, and the rest come from waste," Ricky said in a webinar discussing Jakarta's air pollution problems on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Ricky cited data stating that there are 16 million motorcycles and 3.6 million cars that pass through Jakarta, which include Banten and West Java, the data excludes the population of public transportation. All of the afore mentioned motor vehicles produce emissions and need a large amount of fuel to operate, which in the end creates air pollution. He believed that there are solutions to overcome these problems and insists that local governments need to produce a grand design to tackle the issue. Amukti offered stakeholders to replace traditional fuel with a more environmentally friendly alternative or completely transition to electric vehicles. Amukti also mentioned the use of cooking oil that can power biodiesel powered engines. He said that there are potentially 12 million liters of biodiesel fuel annually from used cooking oil waste from households, and Micro Small & Medium Enterprises, excluding industries and restaurants. Citing a study by the Royal Academy Engineering, he said that "Emissions from used cooking oil are 80 to 90 percent lower compared to what is currently used." As an electric source, Jakarta can make use of rooftop solar panels which are generally modular and applicable across Jakarta's urban environment. Amukti argued that one megawatt from the solar panels can reduce greenhouse effect emissions by 1,226 CO2 annually.

    Talking About Rachel Vennya's Case!

We're classmates and now talking about the cases of Rachel Vennya. That's very interesting conversation xixi :) Orin : Hello Tiara! Tiara : Hello Orin! Orin : How are you? Are you busy right now ? Tiara : I'm well. No, i'm not busy right now. I'm free, take it easy! Orin : Haha okayy... How about your study? have you felt boring? Tiara : Hhaha, sometimes i feel little boring but i'm trying to enjoy it. How about you? Orin : Hmm, i feel same too. Btw, do you know hot news about influencer Instagram? Tiara : Who? Orin : A case of Rachel Vennya Tiara :Oh i see, why about her? Orin : Hmmm, she is pity Tiara : Why do you think that she is pity? Orin : Yaa, i think she is kind influencer. Many of Business Small Medium have been helped by her. Since she has this case, she doesn't make story Instagram again. So, many Business Small Medium can't endorse her.. Tiara : Yes i know, but we must obey the government's rules to minimize the Covid-19 in this situation. We can't act arbitrarily. And as a public figure, she should to give a good example to the community, not get involved in cases like this. Orin : Yes, i agree with you and maybe she has certain reasons to do this. Do you know further handling of this case? Tiara : No, i dont know about this. Can you explain to me about handling of this case? Orin : Rachel Vennya and her boyfriend, Salim Nauderer have undergone during 9 hours examination and were confronted with some questions by the investigative team. And then after this, Rachel Vennya apologized to the public for the actions that had been done. Tiara : Hmm, from some articles that i've read said that Rachel Vennya should have been quarantined for five days at a paid hotel not at the Wisma Atlet. Some of the reasons is because she is categorized as an influencer who travels not for state reasons. In addition, Wisma Atlet only used to Indonesian migrant workers, students attending education from abroad, and the government that carries out duties abroad. Is it right? Orin : Yaa, that’s right. And in my opinion, escaping quarantine after traveling abroad has great potential to carry virus mutations Tiara : Hmm. Moreover, in Indonesia there is already new variant of COVID-19 that very fast transmission. So, i think Rachel Vennya's behavior could trigger the third wave of COVID-19 in Indonesia Orin : Yes, i really agree with you. According to the news that i have read, Rachel Venya was threatened with one year in prison for her actions Tiara : Oh really ? But i think the punishment is proportional to the actions that she did. Btw, after this, we have an anatomy class right? Orin : Oh yeah, i just remember about our class. So, we must end this call. See u next time Ara! Tiara : See u too Orin and thanks for calling with me

THIRD NEWS : Jakarta Allows Sports Centers to Reopen for Sports Activities

Let's see this part, guys! Jakarta Allows Sports Centers to Reopen for Sports Activities The Jakarta Youth and Sports Office allowed sports activities to resume at sports centers with a 50 percent capacity limit as the province's public activities restriction (PPKM) status has improved to level 2. "As the province's PPKM status improved to level 2, activities at sports centers in Jakarta could resume, based on the Jakarta Youth and Sports Office Decree Number 101 of 2021," the office confirmed in its official Instagram page disporadkijkt on Sunday. Indoor and outdoor sports centers in Jakarta were allowed to reopen with capacity limit restrictions and health protocol enforcement applied, the office stated. "During the PPKM level 2 period, residents could participate in sports activities in indoor and outdoor sports centers reopened with 50 percent capacity limit, provided that they observe health protocol and present their vaccine certificate prior to entry," it affirmed. With the resumption of sports activities, the sports centers could again host training sessions for national and regional teams, especially for athletes participating in the XVI National Paralympics Week to be held in Papua next November. The authority also allowed sports competitions to take place at sports centers, yet the organiser should apply for permits from the central government, the police, and the local COVID-19 task force. Despite the sports centers reopening, the Youth and Sports Office informed event organisers who seek to utilise the sports centers for cultural events or other purposes must refer to the regional tourism office regulation as the decree regulating sports centres reopening does not regulate events outside sports. One of the reopened sports centres at Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, had hosted a student-level basketball final match on Saturday (Oct 23). The final match was attended by the Youth and Sports Minister Zainudin Amali, Jakarta's Youth and Sports Office Head Achmad Firdaus, and Central Jakarta Deputy Mayor Irwandi to support the competing teams and observe health protocol implementation at the sports center. Approaching New Year: Jakarta Warns of Potential Third Wave of Covid-19 Head of Epidemiology and Immunization Surveillance Section of DKI Jakarta Health Service Nabila Salma, said that there are five factors that can increase the transmission of Covid-19. She also raised awareness on the potential of third Covid-19 infection wave, especially during the new year period. "Towards the end of year, usually the case are increasing," Nabila said while providing an explanation broadcasted through the Cilincing PKC Youtube account, as quoted by Tempo on Friday, October 22 , 2021. The new variant of the virus is the first factor. Nabila gives an example that the Delta Variant can be easily transmitted, more deadlier, and has the capability of infecting children. "There are dangerous variants, like Delta among the new 24 mutated viruses," Nabila explained. Another Factor, Nabila added, is the the vaccination program which are not spread evenly. According to her, vaccination in Jakarta has reached 80 percent, but in other areas it has only reached 30 to 40 percent. The third factor according to Nabila is intense social interaction following the easing of public mobility restriction. "The one who has not been vaccinated is the reason for the increasing of number of cases and a new mutating virus," Nabila said. Furthermore, Nabila also mentioned that there are people who do not obey Covid-19 Health Protocol. Nabila said that people should continue to wear masks, wash hands, keep their distance, avoid crowds, prevent high mobility and avoid eating out together. Another factor to be aware of as Nabila explained, is the emergence of fake news or hoax. People need to check the truth of an information posted on the internet.
