    Let's Talk About ... Trust

    For the first full-length episode of 2025, Caitlin is diving into the word trust. She talks about what she has learned about trust from her rescue dog, relationships, friendships, and other life experiences. With a few recent personal events and wildfires in her home state of southern California, Caitlin was trying to think of one word that encapsulated some of her feelings. That is how she landed on the word for this episode. You’ll hear about trust issues, the value of placing your trust in someone, the responsibility of someone trusting you, why Caitlin thinks certain people are more trustworthy than others, and the importance of trusting yourself. “Trust us” when we say that this is a good listen.

    Let’s Talk About … 2024 (A Recap)

    It’s the first day of 2025! Caitlin put together a collection of all her favorite snippets from The Good Stuff so far. She hopes you take this as motivation to catch up on episodes you may have missed or go back and listen to any you feel like you need to hear again. 2024 will always be the year that The Good Stuff was born, making it special forever.     Let's Talk About ... Identity

    Our identity is the most personal thing to us. Which, is why Caitlin spends this episode emphasizing how important it is to protect who has a say in how you see yourself. There are many roles, characteristics, and traits about us that make up our identity. Some of them are surface-level labels, others are sacred. Caitlin explains the difference. She tells a story about when she once hid part of her identity because of reasons she now knows to be pointless. As with many of her solo episodes, things get deep. But, at this point, that is to be expected from The Good Stuff’s host. If nothing else, the hope is this episode reminds you how special you are and encourages you to be proud of the uniqueness inside of your own identity.

    Let's Talk About ... Confrontation

    Life has a way of forcing us to confront many different things and conversations. For this episode, Caitlin welcomed back her mom to the podcast. As a birthday gift to her, she let her pick the word they would discuss. In reflecting on her year, she chose the word “confrontation.” The two talk through the complexities of the word and their feelings about it.  They chat about what it means to be “good” at confrontation and why they both consider themselves to have that “skill.” Whether you are needing to confront a difficult event, emotional conversation, or even if you are skating by without a worry, this is a good conversation to join in on.     Let's Talk About ... Forgiveness

    Caitlin gets vulnerable (yet again) in this episode as she talks about the word forgiveness. Although she doesn’t want to air her dirty laundry on the internet, she alludes to the fact that she has been through some really tough situations in life – making her face decisions of if she should forgive someone or not. She gives listeners her own personal rubric for assessing a situation to help decide if someone is deserving of their forgiveness. Caitlin also gives some of her hot takes in regards to forgiveness, including why she hates the phrase “forgive and forget.” In addition, she talks about why this isn’t a guest episode. Spoiler alert, there’s lots to look forward to! This episode gives listeners more insight into who their host is and why her life experience makes her an interesting source. Happy listening!

    Let's Talk About ... Respect

    It’s the day after Election Day and while this episode is not about politics, it was heavily influenced by the political landscape in the United States over recent months. Caitlin gets vulnerable about what moment in the campaign that inspired this topic – a time where she did lose respect for people she knows. The overall message of the episode is about why it is important to respect political candidates and each other during these polarizing times. She continues the conversation of respect in a more personal fashion, explaining why it is now the number one thing she looks for in romantic relationships. She talks about being in relationships where she was respected and ones where she wasn’t respected and how that changes her behavior for the hypothetical (or real) times she runs into these men from her past.     Let's Talk About ... Community

    Caitlin is currently at her U.S. Nationals competition with her Arabian horses. Knowing this episode would release while she was at this event, she wanted to choose a word that would emulate some of her time here. So, she is discussing the word community. In this episode, she talks about how community comes up in her personal and professional life. She uses national examples to show how communities show up and, occasionally, disappoint themselves. In the second half of the episode, she sits down with her friend Jen, who she met in the Arabian horse community. Simply put, Jen has had an almost-unbelievable couple of months. Her account of what this community means to her and how it has helped her through the impossible might just bring you to tears. You’ll have to listen to hear the rest. With intercoms going all hours of the day, Caitlin and Jen had to record their snippet in Caitlin’s rental car. They appreciate you giving them grace. Enjoy this special episode!

    Let's Talk About ... Confidence

    When one of her best friends told her she was “one of the most confident people she knew,” Caitlin’s wheels got turning. She wondered what about her gave her friend this impression. So, she has brought the topic of confidence to the podcast. This is something she knows people in her life and people around her sometimes struggle with. Caitlin also has had plenty of seasons in her life when she wrestled with her self-confidence.  She goes deep into areas of her life where she feels confident, ways she has learned to grow her own confidence, and what about her upbringing she thinks has helped her find confidence. This episode should leave you feeling more sure of yourself and like you have tangible ways to practice being confident in your own life. Enjoy!

    Let's Talk About ... Sacrifice

    In episode three Caitlin sits down with her parents, Jim and Alison, to talk about Sacrifice. They have been married for 42 years, so they are no strangers to sacrifice. The three of them discuss what constitutes a sacrifice, a unique thing Jim and Alison did at their wedding, why some people are drawn to doing things for others, and how to determine if a decision is worth your sacrifice or not. Both Jim and Alison made huge sacrifices in their careers for their family. They detail why they made the choices they did. And Caitlin has a chance to communicate how those choices impacted her life. This conversation is full of wisdom. It will make listeners fall in love with Caitlin’s sweet parents and maybe even inspire them to ask some of these questions to someone in their lives.
