In this episode of the Life and Football Podcast our speical guest was Lynnwood Wright. Coach Wood is the Head Football Coach/Athletic director for Florida Central Tech.
Coach Woody started his collegiate start in 2013 as a secondary coach, defensive coordinator and associate head coach. He also served as the secondary coach in the FCS National Bowl and BCS Tropical Bowl under former Green Bay Packers coach Mike stocks. He also coached internationally for Team America where he coached under Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense of line coach, Lori Locust. With nearly two decades of secondary coaching experience, 10 of which as a defensive coordinator, Coach Wright specializes in secondary techniques, coverages, and multiple defensive sets and movements.
Coach also speaks on how his cousin Ray Lewis inspired with his commitment and dedication to the game of Football.
Southeastern University Head Football Coach Cesar Rivas Interview!
In this episode of the Life and Football Podcast our speical guest is Cesar Rivas. Cesar Rivas is the Head Football Coach for Southeastern University. Cesar Rivas-Sandoval tabbed to lead the Southeastern University Football program as Head Football Coach in January of 2020 after serving on the staff at Azusa Pacific University as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator since 2014. This will be his 21st season of coaching. Throughout his career, Rivas has served in virtually every capacity, from head coach to offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, as well as coaching positions of quarterbacks, defensive backs, linebackers, defensive line. In 2016 and 2018 APU made its first of two NCAA Division II playoff appearances in just its third and fifth seasons of active NCAA membership. Doing so behind one of the nation’s top-ranked defenses. The Cougars finished the year among the nation’s top scoring defenses, surrendering just 16.0 points per game. In his first season at APU, the Cougars repeated as GNAC champions, posting a 10-1 record and ranked 3rd nationally in sacks and 6th in turnover margin. In 2015, the Cougars had the nation’s No. 2 pass defense. Prior to joining Azusa Pacific, Rivas-Sandoval spent the 2013 season coaching linebackers and serving as special teams coordinator at the University of Sioux Falls. He served as the head coach at Fort Lewis College (CO) for three years (2010-12). His 18-year coaching career includes experience every level of football from high school to the NCAA Division I. In 2012 he participated in the NFL’s Bill Walsh Fellowship Program as an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins and on defense with the Green Bay Packers in 2013. Additionally, he was selected to the NFL-NCAA Coaches Academy in Tampa Bay, FL in 2018. He most recently spent the CFL’s 2018 training camp season as a guest defensive coach with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Rivas is a San Diego native (Hilltop HS) who played college football from 1995-99 at UC Davis. Three of his first four years of coaching were in his hometown of San Diego, first at Hilltop High School and for two years at the junior college level with Southwestern College. Jarrod Hickman - Florida State University School Head Coach/ Florida High Football!
In this episode of the Life and Football Podcast our speical guest was Jarrod Hickman. Jarrod Hickman is the Head Coach for Florida State University School (Also known as Florida High). A lot of teams would loved to have had the success this team has had over the past few years. Now with a solid foundation, great coaching staff, and an awesome Administration the stars are the limit. With great leadership from Dr. Stacy Chambers, Principal Megan Brink, FSUS Director of AthleticTyrone McGriff, and Coach Hickman you can’t do nothing but Win! They do an amazing job each game organizationally from the student section, to the band, cheerleading, football team always winning, and a great game environment! By continuing to be a serious force in the State of Florida Class 3A football division. In 2017, FSUS made it to the State Semifinals against Oxbridge Academy. In 2018, the Seminoles made it to the State Semifinals again against King’s Academy. And, in 2019 Florida High defeated Lakeland Christian in the Semifinals and went on to play in the State Championship game against Chaminade-Madonna. Finishing 2019 as the State Runner up with 12-2 record. This was an excellent run for the noles and Coach Hickman. This team had success in the Big Bend and across the State of Florida in High School Football. Players from the team who made the All Big Bend 1st team Ahmari Harvey Willie Taggart Jr. Alfred Menjor Jordan Gilley 2nd team Logan Stinson Aaron Ford Tre’ Donaldson 3rd team George Henderson Amarrie Harris Sheldon Walker Honor Mention Emory Layerd Logan Brooks Christian McLaurin Kei’Arryien Green. Also Willie Taggart Jr. on being named the Class 3A player of the year and earned Offensive MVP for the North / South All Star game. This team has some great players who returned 4 star recruit Ahmari Harvey and the Gilley twins to name a few trust us they have more exciting ballers to see.
College Gridiron Showcase - Mike Rittelman Director of Scouting and Player Personnel!!
In this episode of the Life and Football Podcast our speical guest was Michael Rittelmann. Mike is the Director of Scouting and Player Personnel for the College Gridiron Showcase. The College Gridiron Showcase is a week for College Football players to Showcase their talent for a chance at Professional Football and the with Ends with a scrimmage game. Mike's background includes twenty years in the football community as a athlete, recruiter, and Coach. He is well rounded in academic settings, as well as an education that includes a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management, with a Communications minor and a Masters in Human Resources Leadership. College Gridiron Showcase is an All Star football week that will match up the best players from FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III, NAIA, and CIS in Canada. This week will showcase and provide exposure for top college senior football players from around the USA and Canada. The events and game is held in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. Mike plays a major role with the recruitment and scouting of college football prospects at the D1,D2, D3 and NAIA level. The College Gridiron Showcase was founded by Jose Jefferson and Craig Redd.
Josh Sterns Wide Receiver for Houston Baptist University Football Interview!!
In this episode of the Life and Football Podcast our speical guest was Josh Sterns. Josh is a wide receiver for Houston Baptist University Football program. Exceptional athleticism runs in the blood of each of the six Sterns boys and the family. Josh the youngest of Sterns has a close friend at Houston Baptist University. The close friend is his brother Jerreth Sterns who also plays Wide Receiver. His brother Caden plays at Texas, Jordan played for the Kansas City Chiefs after playing collegiately at Oklahoma State and his brother Jamison played at West Texas A&M. His father James played basketball at Baylor. Josh recently caught 5 touchdowns in one game.

In this episode of the Life and Football Podcast our speical guest is Lance Leggett. Leggett is the owner and operator of the Leggett Speed Academy Leggettspeed.com based in Polk County Florida, but he has online coaching as well. Leggett played Wide Receiver in college football for the University of Miami and for the NFL Cleveland Browns. In HighSchool and College Leggett was a Nationally ranked track performer who gained the confidence needed be a star on the football field. While playing for the Hurricanes Lance admitted that alot of the skill Athletes on the football team ran track in College. Leggett talks about growing up and running track under who he calls one of his best track coaches his dad. Leggett In 2006, was the ACC Outdoor Champion in the 400-hurdles (51.83), and placed second in the 110-meter hurdles (13.79) to earn All-ACC honors…Ran the anchor leg of the 4×100-meter relay that placed third at the 2006 ACC Outdoor Championships. Finished 12th in the 110-meter hurdles (14.03) at the NCAA East Regional. Earned All-ACC honors in both 2006 and 2007 during the indoor season with a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles both years (7.89 in 2006 and UM-record 7.79 in 2007) and ran the opening leg of the 4×400-meter relay that finished fifth in 2006.
