It’s July-ish. Is it Andrew Painter Time?

The Phillies can make a strong argument to have multiple starting pitchers make the NL All-Star team. Zack Wheeler and Ranger Suárez are candidates for NL Pitcher of the Month for June. Wheeler is a NL Cy Young candidate, too. Cristopher Sánchez has dazzled. Jesús Luzardo has bounced back from two terrible starts. But rookie Mick Abel’s recent struggles continued in Game 1 of Wednesday’s doubleheader. Does Abel make another start before the All-Star break? Or is it time to promote top prospect Andrew Painter, who is scheduled to start Thursday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley? Brandon Marsh has been playing well since he returned from the IL in early May. Does his performance change how the Phils view the July 31 trade deadline? Plus, who are the Phillies’ NL All-Stars? They say Delco’s a lot … and they’re right. Find a full list of weekend events at VisitDelco.com, including free concerts at Rose Tree Park in Media and all the Fourth of July parades and fireworks shows! The biggest fear: Phillies offense is MIA, wastes stellar pitching in Houston

This is the biggest fear for Phillies fans. It’s October and the Phillies’ rotation dominates its opponent in the NL Wild Card Series or NL Division Series. But the offense can’t string hits together and the Phils take another early October exit, forcing difficult decisions to be made in the offseason. It could happen again. It certainly happened this week in Houston. The Phillies allowed only five runs in the three-game series, but the offense scored only one. It’s just the 10th time since 1901 that a team allowed five or fewer runs in a series and got swept. Is it time to make a change? Is it time for Justin Crawford? Plus, we answer a few of your leftover questions from earlier this week. They say Delco’s a lot … and they’re right. All In? We answer your Phillies’ trade deadline questions

We asked you for your Phillies questions and you delivered once again. We got a TON of questions about the July 31 trade deadline, but we also got plenty about the Phillies’ impending free agents and more. Those questions included Ranger Suárez, who allowed one run in seven-plus innings in Tuesday night’s 1-0 loss in Houston. We start with Ranger, but we get into Dave Dombrowski’s wish list. Is a closer in the Phillies’ future? If so, who? We also discuss potential bats to help the Phillies in the outfield. Jim tells us how he spanks his tomatoes, too. 4. Problems? Nick Castellanos’ words to Rob Thomson trigger benching

Problems? Nick Castellanos’ words to Rob Thomson trigger benching

Phillies manager Rob Thomson made a sound baseball decision on Monday night, when he replaced Nick Castellanos for defensive purposes in the eighth inning in Miami. Thomson wanted to improve his outfield defense with the Phillies holding a 3-1 lead. But Castellanos didn’t like it. In fact, he said something “inappropriate” to Thomson in the dugout. It was bad enough that Castellanos was benched on Tuesday night, snapping MLB’s second-longest active streak of games started. Castellanos still doesn’t seem happy about it. What’s the deal? Could this become a problem? Is Orion Kerkering the Phillies’ new closer?
