RE-VAMPED with Juliet Landau

I miss the guys.

I enjoyed the original format with the guys. It seemed organic and the guys seemed so good natured and in ways relatable. Those episodes were overly long however and not as streamlined or focused on the episodes as the new ones. I like this new co host but the Drusilla cameos are somewhat distracting and too often, I think she is okay but not all the time. I really appreciate the tidbits and behind the scenes, but more honesty and transparency should be given on social media to address these issues. Juliet seems really sweet when listening to the podcast and I believe intentions may be good, but I think that the name should be changed back to Slaying It, and the behind the scenes drama should be addressed. If this is to be a fan centric podcast, the fans should be given the respect of a bit more transparency so it doesn’t feel like we are being talked down to from a platform. With all this drama it makes it not enjoyable to show loyalty to the podcast, and I feel like this could be a great opportunity. I think the name should be changed back, the drama should be addressed, maybe some apologies delivered.

Hope she resolves the name issue

Having a free backstage pass each week to the fantastical world of Buffy and her Scooby Dru gang’s adventures is worth its weight in blood. This week’s podcast reminded me of the creepy aspect of childhood puppet star, Howdy Drudy. There is just something inherently sinister about carved wood and plastic invested with animate qualities…first cousins to Voodru dolls. Each installment of Revamped features a synopsis of a treasured Buffy episode, with fun insights. What I relish most though are the digressions. These imaginative tangents are key to the creative process. As a writer, I am fascinated by an actor’s ability to reach into dialogue and unearth rich meaning. In a sense, the actor gives flesh AND blood to the gaunt skeletal structure of words on a page. This is, I believe, what distinguishes actors from puppets.
