Listen Now: Happily Never After: Dan & Nancy

Nancy Brophy fills her novels with romantic betrayals and murder. It’s a far cry from her quiet life in the suburbs, where she and her chef husband, Dan, are living out their golden years. But when Dan is shot dead, Nancy finds herself at the center of a murder case that could be ripped from the pages of her novels.

From Wondery, this is a story about what happens when the line blurs between fiction and reality.

Stale as day old bread

I’ve listened to this podcast FOR YEARS and for a while their pandering to not reporting the full facts of a case so as not to offend anyone has really irked me. After all, it’s pretty hypocritical of them, they’re profiting off the true crime case so tell us the full facts - don’t leave out words that don’t sell cornflakes - if anything, I feels that insults the victims of crime MORE.

Often after listening, I have had to go to google and Reddit to get the full reports from various other sources, and then found that their lack of research is astounding.

The old days are been and gone, and I do love their best friend banter but I hope they move on to do another podcast because it sounds like neither is engaged anymore and neither seems passionate about the cases they are presenting.

I guess they’re riding the gravy train with biscuit wheels making lots of money off their misreporting of cases and it looks like the train won’t stop unless the money does. So, I’m getting off at the next station and won’t be riding the Generation Why train to the next stop.
