Life of Brian | #64 Sam Kekovich - Australian Sports Legend, Media Personality & ‘Lambassador’

This week Brian and Harrison kick things off with some general chat they discuss; the Lorne Pier to Pub, the Ash Barty Foundation Golf Day, Californian bushfires, the hiker the went missing at Mt Kosciusko and plenty more. Next, the lads are joined by Australian sports legend, media personality and ‘Lambassador’ 'Slammin' Sam Kekovich. Keka as he's known is a former AFL star playing in the 1975 North Melbourne Premiership, but you might know him better as the Australian ‘Lambassador’, where he has spent 20 years as the face of Lamb for Meat & Livestock Australia. He’s enjoyed an illustrious media career, including’ the ABC show The Fat (known for his direct-to-camera monologues), 3AK radio breakfast show, SEN 1116, Triple M’s pre-match AFL coverage, PTI (pardon the interruption) Australia on ESPN, along with these programs, BT, Keka and ubiquitous Taylor family member, Rocky Dabscheck had a radio show called ‘The Dropkicks’ on 3UZ in the 90s. Life of Brian | #62 Phil Anderson - Trailblazing Australian Cyclist

This week Brian and Harrison kick things off with some general chit chat; BT gives us an update on his lookout project, they talking about the new Collingwood FC President, the boys gives their takes on the new NBA All Star game format and plenty more. Next, the lads are joined by trailblazing Australian cyclist, Phil Anderson. Phil is one of the most important figures in the globalisation of cycling, he was the first non-European to wear the yellow jersey and the first Australian to win a stage at the Tour de France, he and American, Greg Lemond were the pioneers promoting cycling outside of Europe. The chat covers; Phil's illustrious career, his move from Kew to Paris as a 19yo to peruse his love of cycling, some cracking stories from his time with some of the biggest cycling teams and personalities in the world (particularly, Bernard Hinault & Lance Armstrong), the controversies of doping in his day. They also chatted about Phil's love of the bush, where and what he's riding today and plenty more. Phil is a ripper bloke, super humble, hard-working and is an iconic figure within the Australian cycling community. We are grateful for his time. Life of Brian | #61 Simon Black - AFL Legend

This week Brian and Harrison kick things off with some general chatter; BT walks us through a couple of the projects he has going on at home, he shares a kidney stone story (which combines with a story of poor parenting) and Brian also shares 'the hardest thing he has ever done'. Next, the boys are joined by Australian Rules football legend and one of the most celebrated players in the game, Simon Black. 3x AFL Premierships, a Brownlow, a Norm Smith and countless other 'trinkets', there's next to nothing he hasn't done in the game. Put simply, this man of one of the greats, not just as an athlete but more so as a a man. He's humble, hardworking and was gifted with incredible skill. Always the loyal team man, he valued group achievements over the many individual accolades he received. Simon is a client of NC Management (Harrison's work), so the boys know Simon well and were able to squeeze some of the best juice out of this conversation. Hope you enjoy! Life of Brian | #60 Darren Handley - Surfboard shaper

This week Brian and Harrison are joined by Jesse Taylor (youngest of the Taylor boys). They discuss their opinions of having weddings on public holidays, particularly one that is coming up for them on NYE (no mercy was shown). BT talks through his new role on Thursday Nights with Seven, plus his current fitness/health kick. Next, the boys are joined by one of the world's best surfboard shapers, Darren Handley. Darren, runs and owns 'DHD Surf', which creates performance surfboards for the some of the best athletes on the planet, including; Stephanie Gilmore, Mick Fanning, Owen Wright, Ethan Ewing and Molly Picklum. Growing up on the beaches of Kirra QLD, as a young boy, he dreamt of becoming a professional surfer, that dream didn't fully eventuate, however, he was destined to aid some of the best surfers in the world become World Champions. Through is passion and desire to create high quality surfboards, he has chased perfection in his designs. It is Darren's ability to form strong relationships and establish a collaborative environment that sets him apart. The conversation goes deep into the relationship between a shaper and the surfer, the details behind the manufacturing process, life on the WSL tour, his passion for the Carlton Football Club and much more. Life of Brian | #59 Jeff Browne - Australian Business Identity

This week Brian and Harrison wiz through a few topics including; what went down at the NC Management XMAS Party, the new coach at the Sydney Swans, what BT has been up to in his time off and their take on Black Friday Sales. Next, the boys are joined by Australian Business Identity, Jeff Browne. For those who don't know the name, Jeff has been involved with the AFL industry within various roles and at across locations for 40 years. A lawyer by trade, he was one of the key people that were involved in the the VFLs transition to a national league, the introduction of the national draft and he was also a pioneer of the systems that allowed player movement within the league. In addition to his work as an advisor to the AFL, he was also the Managing Director of Channel Nine from 2010-2013 and most recently, the Collingwood FC President from 2022-2024. Jeff was diagnosed with a form of cancer called Myeloma a few years ago, fortunately he is now I deep remission, however, after stepping down as Collingwood President, he has decided to take on the role as Chairman of the Myeloma Foundation to help raise awareness and funds for those suffering with the illness.
