    Mapping Your Pleasure Profile

    Mapping Your Pleasure Profile

Sexual desire remains one of the most complex yet common issues that sex therapists treat. How do you maintain a passion in a long-term relationship? Is it possible to have hot monogamy despite the monotony of day-to-day life? What does pleasure have to do with desire? What can heterosexual couples learn from lesbians about desire and pleasure? Let’s just say that we have a lot to discuss. Today I’m joined by Dr. Jenn Kennedy, a clinical sexologist and licensed marriage and family therapist based in Santa Barbara. In 2023, Dr. Jenn launched The Pleasure Project, which is dedicated to helping […]

A Beautiful Story About Deepening Intimacy After Crisis

A Beautiful Story About Deepening Intimacy After Crisis

Today, I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with celebrity television host, Samantha Harris. Samantha was at the top of her game hosting Dancing with the Stars when she experienced a health crisis that stopped her dead in her tracks. Her story was one of the most beautiful I have heard on how intimacy can deepen, and how sex can improve after navigating a crisis effectively as a couple. Every couple can learn from how she and her wonderful husband worked together to overcome the painful aftermath of her recovery. She candidly shares tips on how they reconnected not […]

    Rewriting Your Sexual Script

    Rewriting Your Sexual Script

Sexual scripts comprise your attitudes, values, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors about sex. They are formed from a very young age and are affected by your upbringing, culture, religion, experiences, and expectations about gender. Holding too rigid of a sexual script inhibits pleasure and satisfaction, especially as you age. Given the fact that we are living longer, we need to talk about how to adapt our scripts to our lives as they evolve. Early in 2021, Jim Benton decided on a career change. After many years in the Special Events industry, and the ravages of Covid-19, Jim took a deep dive […]

Fat Sexuality – Busting Myths and Erasing Stigma

Fat Sexuality – Busting Myths and Erasing Stigma

Fat is not a dirty word. It’s not a bad word. And it shouldn’t have negative connotations. But unfortunately, it still does. We live in a society that celebrates thin bodies and judges fat ones. But the fact is, everyone, regardless of their body type, is entitled to experience love, connection, and great sex. On this episode, I’m joined by an expert on fat sexuality to challenge myths, breakdown stereotypes, and offer hope to people struggling to accept their big body. Note to smaller people listening, you can learn a thing or two from this episode.
Tamara Pincus is a licensed clinical social worker and AASECT certified sex therapist who runs The Pincus Center which offers individual and relationship therapy, coaching and sex education. She specializes in working with fat, kinky, polyamorous and LGBTQ clients. Tamara has been working in the field of sex therapy since 2011 and since then has built a practice with a team of 10. Tamara is passionate about racial justice, fat justice and LGBTQ rights. She also co-authored a book titled “It’s Called Polyamory: Coming Out About Your Non-Monogamous Relationships” with Rebecca Hiles.
