mama didn't tell me is a parenting podcast focusing on all the topics our childhoods couldn't prepare us for. The world is a dramatically different place than it was when we were kids, and many of us are learning that we don't know very much when it comes to raising open-minded and progressive children. Many of our parents were taught not to discuss our differences; but as parents ourselves we know that differences are better celebrated than ignored.

We think it's so important for parents to have open, honest conversations about how to teach our children to be good humans who lift up other people. Our goal is to be a resource for parents wanting to broaden their horizons, explore their blindspots and raise happy, confident, socially conscious children.

Childless admirer

I don’t have any children of my own but I’m still thoroughly entertained by both of your awesome and funny story telling. I love hearing about your non traditional and/or open minded ways of raising your children. I also very much like that you don’t interrupt each other (something a lot of other podcasts do)!

Connecting with Mom

Such a great podcast! Admittedly I have not birthed nor do I have any children. Thats not gonna stop me from listening to this podcast tho! I’m so grateful these ladies have put themselves and these topics out here. It’s like therapy for me and I love therapy - Yay mental health! I recently lost my Mom to terrible illness and in listening to the first few episodes of this podcast I’ve been able to reflect on my Mom as a woman who was doing her best with what she knew to raise three children. She’ll always be “my Mom” but listening to MDTM is helping me see her and other Moms in my life through a new lens. I’ve been reflecting on her and them as whole people. It’s helping me continue to connect with my Mom in her afterlife and I’m beyond grateful for this. Keep up the good work, I can’t wait to continue listening! Thank you MDTM ladies!!
