We Can Do Hard Things

Life is freaking hard. We are all doing hard things every single day – things like loving and losing; caring for children and parents; forging and ending friendships; battling addiction, illness, and loneliness; struggling in our jobs, our marriages, and our divorces; setting boundaries; and fighting for equality, purpose, freedom, joy, and peace. On We Can Do Hard Things, Glennon Doyle, author of UNTAMED; her wife Abby Wambach; and her sister Amanda Doyle do the only thing they’ve found that has ever made life easier: Drop the fake and talk honestly about the hard things including sex, gender, parenting, blended families, bodies, anxiety, addiction, justice, boundaries, fun, quitting, overwhelm . . . all of it. We laugh and cry and help each other carry the hard so we can all live a little bit lighter and braver, free-er, less alone.

Love your insight, intergrity, and warmth., Glennon. Thank you for sharing your gift. (Would very much appreciate interviews with federal workers. To bring people together and sustainably address social ills we need to hear more from regular society and servants, not just superstars—though I love Abby—so sweet!!!)

I don’t know how you do it, but somehow, you always seem to show up right when I need you most. During some of my hardest moments, your voices have been there—steady, wise, unflinching—reminding me that I can do hard things. And not just any hard things, but the ones that require me to be more me—not someone else, not a shinier version, but the truest version of who I already am. Your conversations don’t just inform; they expand. You’ve cracked open so many of my old narratives, showing me possibilities I never considered. Your episodes on narcissism gave me the clarity and courage to stand in my truth in a deeply challenging relationship—an act that changed my life in ways I could never have imagined. It was like stepping into a dream I hadn’t allowed myself to believe was possible. Glennon, your openness about religion and spiritual abuse means more than I can put into words. I have walked that path for years, and hearing you speak about it makes me feel seen, less alone. You all create a space where the hardest, messiest, most painful things can be named, held, and understood. It’s rare to find a podcast that is both a lifeline and a wake-up call. You don’t strive for perfection, and that’s exactly why you feel like sisters—because you’re real, because you don’t turn away from the truth, and because you care enough to tell us what we need to know, not just what’s comfortable to hear. I am so, so grateful for you. Every week, I look forward to your voices filling my space, helping me hold both awareness and detachment, truth and compassion. You have made an immeasurable impact on my life—and we’ve never even met. Yet. 😉 With love and gratitude, Chanchal
