Mapping the Sea Floor for Environmental Conservation

René Baumstark has been working in the conservation field for 24 years with a Ph. D in Geoscience and an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy. His expertise is rooted in the use of innovative technologies and techniques for mapping and modeling of coastal ecosystems and for the past 10 years, his focus has become research program administration and leadership at the Florida Fish & Wildlife Research Institute. As a lifelong waterman, René has a passion for the ocean and lives out his passion to conserve our oceans by conducting scientific research that directly informs resource conservation decision making.
