Marbella Christmas Markets and Concerts and San Pedro Christmas Lights

Welcome to episode 37 of Marbella with Him & Her, a popular podcast about Marbella and the daily activities of hosts Hannah Murray (@radiohannah) and PJ Lopez (@pjlopez1marbella). In this packed episode we start with a special tea arranged for long standing quiz team member of Director's Cut, Mary who has now gone back to the UK. We devoured sandwiches, scones and doughnuts and of course debated the important question, jam and cream or cream and jam! Hannah also speaks about her annual interview with the editor in chief of the Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday (@craigglenday) and reminisces about her live world record attempts (@guinnessworldrecords) Saturday night was the Christmas Lights switch on in San Pedro de Alcantara where a group of us had a table at Sundays (@sunday_bar_sanpedro) so we could watch the mini concert and the grand switching on of the lights. This week's Sur in English article included the news that Spain is bringing in a law banning flavoured vapes in a bid to stop children using them. We also shared a list of upcoming Christmas markets, concerts and Santa activities which include performances by the Del Sol Singers and Choir Andaluz at venues that include La Sala (@lasalabanus) The Harbour Restaurant in Marbella (the_harbour_marbella), La Virginia (@lavirginiamarbella), the Victoria and Albert pub (@thevictoriaandalbertpubspain) and the Kempinski Hotel in Marbella (@kempinskibahia)

Malaga Weather Alert, Elliott Wright's Charity Event & Celebrity Hair

Welcome to the latest episode of Marbella with Him & Her, your podcast about the busy social lives of Him (PJ Lopez) and Her (Hannah Murray) as they go out and about in Marbella and the Costa del Sol. This week starts with Hannah's caesar salad made at the table for friends Bev and Jamie who came over to watch our performance of Abigail's Party. Later that evening we headed to the Three Monkeys (@the3monkeysbarestepona) for an emotional send off to Dave the Chef who sadly passed away recently. Tuesday evening was a first for us as our mobile phones bleeped madly thanks to a weather red alert telling us that we could avoid travel on Wednesday as severe rain and storms could cause a risk to life. Schools and supermarkets were closed and public transport was suspended until 8am Thursday morning. Hannah recently interviewed Elliott Wright (@elliottwright_) as this week was his charity event at his restaurant Olivias (@olivias_la_cala) where he raised over €30k for flood victims of Valencia. On Friday Hannah had a hair appointment with the Marbella branch of celebrity hair dressers Salon Maher (@salonmaher), coming home very happy with the outcome. So much so that she lead us astray Friday evening going out to Nuevo Siglo for chinese and then to Hogan Stand (@thehoganstand) where we drank far too much limoncello!! On Saturday night we went to the Salon Varietes Theatre (@salonvarietestheatre) in Fuengirola to watch the fantastic Viva la Diva with (@melissaccarver) Toni Leigh (@teee_ell) & R Jay Music (@rjaymusiq) Sur in English articles this week include Rafa Nadal (@rafaelnadal) and whether he will be fit for the Davis Cup in Malaga, the UK team playing in the Billie Jean Cup, and the ongoing drought despite so much rain. As always please leave us a five star review (if you want to) and you can follow Hannah on Instagram @radiohannah or PJ at @pjlopez1marbella

New Marbella Restaurants, Portugal and Dinner Parties

After an unscheduled week off due to illness, Marbella with Him & Her is back and packed with lots of fun activities and adventures. This week we start with a fabulous dinner party with friends Guy and Teresa in Benalmadena. It is a real buzz to get together with new friends and share so many stories!  The day after, we set off for a wedding (a hash wedding) in Quarteira on the Algarve in Portugal. It was an amazing day and night of fun, laughter and meeting new people. Sadly it was cut short due to PJ falling ill. We headed back early and were frustrated by WAZE and its directions!!!! While PJ recovered, on Monday Hannah had rehearsals for a tribute play to June Rendle, who sadly passed away earlier this year and was a much loved member of ITS. Hannah also decided to try out an invitation for EMS training on Tuesday morning with her friend Amy. We also chat about a couple of amazing interviews Hannah did for TRE during the week. One with Esther Adan who is deaf and doing lots for charity work for deaf children. The other was with Tarek, the father of Strictly contestant Tasha who is also deaf and was on Love Island. Tasha's dad lives in Coin on the Costa del Sol and they chatted about the bullying Tasha went through and how she is now an important voice for the deaf community. We also managed to try the new Italian restaurant Babbu in San Pedro which is our most local restaurant, and was a great experience! (@babbutrattroria_es) Finally we chat about the horrific situation in Valencia after the storms and how the amazing communities around the country have rallied to help

After choir Hannah met up wth her friend and her god daughter for an enjoyable bite to eat at Inch in San Pedro (@inchbar) Thursday, PJ went to play golf for the first time in a year and headed down to Alcaidesa Links course which is one of the most pituresque courses on the Costa del Sol. (@lahacienda_linksgolf) Friday Hannah went for her father / daughter brunch at Exotica on the paseo at San Pedro. (@exoticca.restaurant) PJ went to Amazonia in Elviria, East Marbella to the climbing adventure park with his work colleagues. Marbella Parties and Sunday Lunches

Welcome to episode 33 of Marbella with Him & Her, a podcast about our lives in Marbella and the different things that are going on in the area. This week was a busy social week for us, but before that we had the final night of Abigail's Party last Sunday and we ended with a great night and a standing ovation! Part of us is always sad to end a show and part of us is glad as we can get our lives back to normal. Check out the Internationaltheatrestudio.org website or facebook page for some photos of the cast in action. Monday night was the wrap party at a lovely Italian restaurant called La Grappa in Benavista. They offer a selection of very well priced set menus. Definitely worth checking it out. (@italianrestaurantlagrappa) Hannah went to her favourite brunch hangout Pandora in San Pedro with her father on Friday (@pandora_cafeteria) and in the evening we all headed to Eleanor's house (who played Ang in Abigail's Party) for her birthday and to celebrate end of summer. Needless to say many shapes were thrown! Saturday was yet another party, this time for a friend Jan's 75th birthday. It was a themed party so people came as either hippies, rockers or mods. Great to see everyone make a real effort and it was certainly a colourful party. We managed 2 roast dinners at the Hogan Stand last week. One with family before Abigail's Party and the other the Sunday just gone for the quiz winners lunch for Director's Cut to spend our winning vouchers. (@thehoganstand) The Sur in English articles this week included the delay if the EES border control for the EU and the competiton to win a night at a Malaga game in a special room overlooking the pitch (@malagafc and @zocohome) Since Hannah mentioned it last week, PJ has been turning his shower to cold every day, on the advice of Spencer Matthews! Abigails Party Marbella, Annie in Fuengirola and Food in San Pedro

A bit later than usual as we had our last performance of the iconic Abigail's Party on Sunday. This is episode 32 of Marbella with Him & Her, your guide to Marbella and the surrounding areas. The week started with a BBQ at our house for family, and PJ's amazing Thai pork burgers were an instant hit! The night ended with Hannah drinking Crème de menthe chatting with her dad's cousin Miles while PJ snored on the sofa after getting a little carried away with the sweet brandy and vodka! Sunday it was off to beach chiringuito Kala Kalua Playa for a fabulous lunch, which was just in time before the weather turned! We had a last meal out with the family at one of our new favourite San Pedro restaurants Chef by Divot where most of us enjoyed the Chateaubriand which we cooked at the table on the mini BBQ (@chefbydivot) If you have not tried this restaurant yet we can highly recommend it! Wednesday onwards was ALL about Abigail's Party. Wednesday was the tech rehearsal, Thursday was the full dress rehearsal and then from Friday to Sunday it was the actual performances. When we did this podcast we still had Sunday night to go but had already done Friday and Saturday to sell out audiences. See photos on the International Theatre Studio Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ITSMarbella Hannah tries to convince PJ the benefits of cold showers and recalls Spencer Matthews chatting about it on the podcast Spencer & Vogue. PJ & Hannah chat about the amazing performance of Annie at the Salón Varietés Theatre in Fuengirola which was west end standard. It was great to see so many kids involved in the musical and see Diva Fever's Melissa Carver and Toni-Leigha Dempsey at their best. There were a few Sur in English articles this week which included the continuation next May of the United Airlines Malaga to New York route and some information about the number of foreigners in Malaga. Darren Gough at Clubhouse Marbella, Max Beach Day and Comedy at La Sala Puerto Banus

Can you believe we are on episode 30?! In this episode of Marbella with Him & Her (your podcast about Marbella and local areas), we talk about beach clubs, comedy, and celebrity interviews.   Apart from our regular Monday night rehearsal for Abigail's Party, which is now just under 2 weeks away, we went to a comedy night at the live lounge in La Sala (@lasalabanus). It was hosted by Nik Coppin (@nikcoppin) who introduced comedians including Josephine Lacey (@funnyautismmama) and Stephen Grant (@stephencgrant)   On Friday Hannah was back at La Sala but this time in the Clubhouse Marbella (@clubhousemarbella), their latest sports venue which is below the main La Sala. She was hosting a Q&A with England cricket legend Darren Gough (@darrengough44) who also did a meet and greet with some avid cricket fans.   Later in the evening we joined some friends who have a group called the Friday Frolics, which is basically a Friday night dinner club. We ate at the Chinese restaurant in San Pedro called Nuevo Siglo before heading across the road to catch the end of Sean Murray's set at the Hogan Stand (@thehoganstand).   PJ managed to pick up a cold on Friday night so spent most of the weekend in bed while on Sunday Hannah headed out with her girlfriends to Max Beach (@maxbeachmijas), a beach club east of Marbella in Riviera. Hannah and friends seemed to have a great time drinking, eating and drinking!! Then they headed back to San Pedro for a nightcap, cheese, jamon and wine and El Candil (@elcandildesanpedro).   This week's Sur in English articles include the announcement of new drought measures and not being able to water gardens or fill swimming pools again, and an article about Alan Boardman's walking charity in Mijas which has now raised in excess of €20,000 (@boardman_alan)   Don't forget you can follow Hannah on Instagram at @radiohannah or PJ at @pjlopez1marbella
