D23 Marvel Announcements, New Star Wars Trilogy is Promised, Denzel Washington Talks Black Panther 3, and So Much TV in 2025

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes. We’ve been talking about it for a few weeks now, but Marvel Studios just upped the ante on future projects with their presentation at D23 in Brazil this past weekend. Condense it and discuss, you say? Absolutely! Here...we…go… A brand new trailer was shown and released worldwide for Captain America: Brave New World with a longer look at the character of Isaiah Bradley. Hot off those red Hulk heels, a longer Thunderbolts* trailer was released that really set the tone for the film while still leaving us with questions. Also in trailer news, What If Season 3 got a spotlight this week and the trailer Marvel released declares that this season is the end. The man, the myth, the legend himself, Kevin Feige, also teased attendees (and therefore all of us!) with many other tantalizing nuggets such as: The character of Blade WILL reach the MCU. Queen of our hearts and minds the Scarlet Witch will likely return! Feige said the questions are “when and how” that will happen. Feige “hopes” that Miles Morales will enter the live action MCU sometime after the third animated Spider-Verse movie releases. And finally…FINALLY, the X-Men will, according to Feige, play a major role in the MCU after Secret Wars. It’s the age of Dave Filoni as Lucasfilm has brought his Star Wars Rebels co-creator Simon Kinberg on board to develop a new trilogy of films in the galaxy far, far away. The new trilogy will not be a continuation of the nine-film Skywalker Saga, but will feature new characters and new stories - though insiders say this may be up for debate. Regardless, don’t count out characters from other corners of the universe showing up. Kinberg’s producing credits include Logan, the first two Deadpool movies, acting as a consultant for The Force Awakens, and he’s involved in the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s The Running Man starring Glen Powell. In a wild and unofficial move, Denzel Washington revealed during the Gladiator II press tour that he is being written into a third Black Panther movie that will be directed by Ryan Coogler. Development on a Black Panther 3 film has not been announced by Marvel Studios in any official capacity, but wow what a rumor to start, Denzel! HBO released a sizzle reel for their 2025 shows that will stream on Max, showcasing footage from an astounding number of their shows. Favorites like The White Lotus, The Last of Us, Hacks, and The Gilded Age were highlighted alongside upcoming shows Welcome to Derry, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and The Chair Company, to name a few. Today, Disney+ also shared a sizzle reel this week featuring, of course, our anticipated Marvel and Star Wars projects, as well as some of their other darlings like The Bear, Goosebumps, The Handmaid’s Tale, and more Netflix has released a video confirming that the fifth and final season of Stranger Things will release in 2025 and will be eight episodes long. The video also confirmed the titles of each episode. Macaulay Culkin has joined the Season 2 cast of Prime Video's Fallout in a recurring role, sources tell Deadline. A Mass Effect TV series based on the video game franchise is officially in development at Amazon MGM Studios, Variety has learned. The next book in the Marvel Crime series was announced and will be called Enemy of My Enemy featuring Daredevil and is written by bestselling author Alex Segura. The adult novel will be available July 29, 2025. Warner Brothers has announced that the release date for Bong Joon Ho's Mickey 17 starring Robert Pattinson has shifted release dates from January 31, 2025 to April 18, 2025. Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Zendaya have joined the cast of Christopher Nolan's upcoming untitled film. They join Matt Damon and Tom Holland.

  2. Marvel’s 2025 TV Line-Up, New Skeleton Crew Trailer, Plus GOT on the Big Screen

Marvel’s 2025 TV Line-Up, New Skeleton Crew Trailer, Plus GOT on the Big Screen

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes. Last week, mere minutes after our Tuesday evening recording session, we were both delighted and disheartened when Marvel Studios dropped its “Look Ahead | Disney Plus’’ trailer, which not only provided release dates, but showcased our first official look at footage, for a whopping 8 streaming projects. Here’s what we learned: Box office juggernaut Deadpool & Wolverine will be available to stream on the platform beginning November 12, 2024. We already knew Daredevil: Born Again is set to begin streaming March 4, 2025, but the trailer, which was intercut with footage from the other shows, gave us our first look at the villain Muse, the return of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, as well as Bullseye, and perhaps most surprisingly the inclusion of Ms. Marvel’s dad, Yusuf Khan What If Season 3 will begin streaming this December 22nd, with no word as to whether that will be a weekly or daily release, like last year. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will begin airing January 29th, 2025 Riri William’s Ironheart makes her return beginning June 24th, 2025 Eyes of Wakanda, the animated anthology series is set for an August 6th, 2025 debut Marvel Zombies will premiere sometime in October 2025, with the live action Wonder Man series starring Yahya Abdul Mateen II arriving later that December. In a final marketing push ahead of its December 3 premiere, Lucasfilm released final art, a poster, and a new trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The series, which is helmed by Spider-Man filmmaker Jon Watts, is an Amblin Entertainment-inspired coming of age tale that follows four youths who embark on a swashbuckling adventure with unexpected revelations. The trailer is in keeping with what we’ve seen from the series thus far, which is to say it feels tonally divergent from anything we’ve seen in Star Wars before, including new species, planets, and a synth-pop heavy score. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros is gearing up to bring the world of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones to the silver screen with at least one film in early development. And that’s pretty much all we know – there’s no creative talent attached yet, meaning no writer or director, much less any word regarding a potential time, setting, or characters that might be involved. Amazon MGM Studios is testing actors for the role of Lara Croft in Phoebe Waller-Bridge's upcoming Tomb Raider series. Sophie Turner and Lucy Boynton top Amazon's wish list, according to Deadline. Scary Movie creators Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans are reuniting after 18 years to develop a new film in the franchise for Paramount and Miramax. Kelly Macdonald, known for Boardwalk Empire and No Country for Old Men, has joined the cast of DC Studios' Lanterns. Amazon MGM Studios is developing a Jack Ryan film, continuing the series storyline with John Krasinski, Wendell Pierce, and Michael Kelly. Andrew Bernstein will direct. Early box office projections show Wicked opening at over $80 million domestically and Gladiator 2 at $65 million, both debuting on November 22. Universal Pictures and LEGO have partnered to develop three live-action LEGO films, directed by Jake Kasdan, Patty Jenkins, and Joe Cornish. Toho has officially greenlit a new Godzilla movie from the director of last year's Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One. Amazon MGM Studios has acquired American Speed, starring Tom Holland and Austin Butler as the scandal-ridden Whittington Brothers, with Oscar-winning producer Charles Roven attached. Ridley Scott revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he's working on a new Alien movie for 20th Century Studios, though it's unclear if it's connected to the Alien: Romulus follow-up or a standalone project. Tom Cruise is in early talks with Paramount for a Days of Thunder sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

  3. Spider-Man 4 Release Date, 20th Century Film Plans, Star Wars Movie Loses a Writer, Venom Travels Well

    30 OCT.

Spider-Man 4 Release Date, 20th Century Film Plans, Star Wars Movie Loses a Writer, Venom Travels Well

Tom Holland appeared on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and with a drum roll announced that Spider-Man 4 officially begins shooting next summer. This information is coupled with an announcement from Sony that the release date is July 24, 2026. 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell sat down with The Hollywood Reporter recently to discuss the future of their filmmaking division under Disney. Asbell seemed to Mirror other disney subsidiaries with it’s assurance that a focus on franchise films is the path of the future. They will likely continue franchises such as Avatar, the Alien-verse, and Planet of the Apes, plus Kenneth Branagh’s Agatha Christie mystery adaptations will continue though it’s not clear if Branagh is attached. Among other films discussed were a Master and Commander prequel, Something with Die Hard, the next Predator movie (two are coming out and one is a secret), and the possibility of a Speed 3.  Writer Steven Knight has left the Rey Star Wars movie. Knight replaced the original screenwriters just last March, but this looks to be another delay to the development of the film. Notably Knight has been busy, working on the screenplays for the Peaky Blinders feature film, an upcoming biopic starring Angelina Jolie, and several tv series. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is still slated to direct the future Rey movie. Venom: The Last Dance stumbled a bit in its choreography during last week’s release in the U.S. with a $51 million dollar opening, but danced to success globally for a total $175 million including $46 million in China, which is the best superhero movie opening in that country since 2019. Sony is pleased with these numbers and well they should be, as the movie did take the top spot over Smile 2, which fell 59 percent. Universal’s Oscar baby Conclave opened to $6.5 million, which tied it with The Wild Robot’s fifth weekend’s earnings. And the Andrew Garfield/Florence Pugh romantic drama We Live in Time came in fifth with $4.8 million. While promoting Robert Zemeckis’ film Here, Paul Bettany confirmed that production begins on the Vision series in 2025. Chris Hemsworth is in talks to star in Disney's upcoming Prince Charming movie with Paul King attached to direct. AppleTV+ has unveiled a new trailer for Severance season 2. Severance will premiere on the streamer on Jan. 17, 2025, followed by an episode every Friday through March 21 for a 10 episode season. Ahead of its season 6 debut in December, drama series Virgin River has been renewed for a seventh season at Netflix. With the early renewal, Virgin River becomes Netflix’s longest-running current original scripted series. An action comedy film adaptation of retro video game Oregon Trail is in early development at Apple. Will Speck and Josh Gordon are attached to direct and produce. EGOT winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will provide original music and produce via their Ampersand production banner. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the movie will feature a couple of original musical numbers Michael Cera, William H. Macy, and Emilia Jones have joined the cast of Paramount's The Running Man. Netflix has renewed its animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft for a second season. The pickup was a relatively quick one, coming just two weeks after the eight-episode first season premiered. First images have surfaced from Spider-Noir, the Amazon series that will star Nicolas Cage in the title role. Sources tell Deadline that a new English-language Squid Game series is in the works at Netflix, with David Fincher coming on to develop it. Sony Pictures announced that Jumanji 3 is set to hit theaters Dec. 11, 2026. Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan starred in the first two films and are expected to return, as is director Jake Kasdan, who helmed both features.

  4. Marvel Pulls Blade, New York City Comic Con Round Up! Daredevil, DCU, Comics, and Lots of Trailers

    23 OCT.

Marvel Pulls Blade, New York City Comic Con Round Up! Daredevil, DCU, Comics, and Lots of Trailers

This Week on Multiverse News! Between last weekend’s New York Comic Con and the regular news cycle, this week has treated us to some tasty, and maybe not so tasty, Marvel morsels. The most substantial news impacting the MCU was the official March 4, 2025 release date for Daredevil: Born Again on Disney Plus and, per an exclusive with Collider, the Russos confirmed Avengers: Doomsday will begin filming next spring. Elsewhere, while speaking on the Rich Roll Podcast, Tom Holland chimed in with his excitement after having read the script for his upcoming, fourth Spider-Man film, saying that there were still things for the writers to figure out and work on, but that it is a real movie, worthy of the fans' respect. Finally, today Disney removed Blade, which was slated for November 7, 2025, from its release calendar. Taking a hard left turn, let’s talk some DC, where James Gunn debuted the official trailer for Creature Commandos. During the Comic Con panel, cast and crew, including Gunn, executive producer Dean Lorey and Alan Tudyk to name a few, highlighted the animated series’ mature, violent tone and Eastern European aesthetic, even comparing it to the TV show Lost; and cited how voices were cast with live action appearances and integration specifically considered. While celebrating the series’ unique identity in the context of the DCU, Gunn of course couldn’t miss the opportunity to provide minor updates for Peacemaker Season 2, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Lanterns and Superman, promising, “It won’t be too long before we see a trailer, but it also won’t be too soon.” HBO’s Dune: Prophecy treated fans with a new trailer and an official release date coming out of NYCC: the series will premiere Sunday, Nov. 17. The official logline for the series reads, “From the expansive universe of ‘Dune,’ created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, ‘Dune: Prophecy’ follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.” The season is made up of six episodes and will release on Sundays on HBO and Max. Netflix has released the official trailer for the Russo Brothers’ upcoming sci fi action movie “The Electric State,” starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt. The film begins streaming on March 14th, 2025. Shrinking has been renewed for season 3 at AppleTV+. Josh Brolin and Lee Pace are currently in final negotiations to star opposite Glen Powell in The Running Man, Paramount’s adaptation of the Stephen King novel. Both actors will portray villains in the film. Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly casting new leads in their 20s for Mr. and Mrs. Smith Season 2, with singer Billie Eilish among rumored contenders for the one-year roles of John and Jane. At New York Comic Con, AMC released the first trailer for Season 2 of Walking Dead: Dead City and announced that it will begin streaming sometime in the spring of 2025. Blumhouse showcased exclusive MEGAN 2.0 footage, with the killer doll teasing she's received an "upgrade" in a special NYCC message. With production complete, the sequel is set to release on June 27, 2025. Blumhouse also unveiled a new trailer for Leigh Whannel’s The Wolfman starring Julia Garner and Christopher Abbott. Also during the Blumhouse NYCC panel, Director Mike Flanagan spoke about his new version of The Exorcist, which he considers "the scariest movie ever made." Beyond Flanagan expressing his excitement to tackle the iconic property, no additional details about the project were revealed at the NYCC panel. Following the success of the original film, director Scott Derrickson and writer C. Robert Cargill are returning for The Black Phone 2, bringing back Ethan Hawke and the original cast for what Derrickson describes as a "high school coming-of-age film" based on an ide

  5. Lanterns Shines Light on its John Stewart, Disney Gets Nostalgic, and Wicked Ticket Sales Defy Gravity

    16 OCT.

Lanterns Shines Light on its John Stewart, Disney Gets Nostalgic, and Wicked Ticket Sales Defy Gravity

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes. The search for Hal Jordan’s counterpart in the DCU series Lanterns is over as Aaron Pierre has been cast as John Stewart. Pierre won out against other frontrunner Stephen James after screen tests with Hal Jordan actor Kyle Chandler. The John Stewart character from comics holds a lot of weight as it was one of DC’s first Black superheroes and is a fan favorite. You can catch Pierre in Netflix’s Rebel Ridge and M. Night Shyamalan’s movie Old. Disney isn’t shying away from leaning into the projects that feel like surefire hits right now, and their updated release schedule reflects that. Both the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie and Freakier Friday - reuniting Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis - have 2025 release dates with Stitch coming first in May and the Freaky Friday sequel in August. Excitement follows both films, with Freakier Friday taking a look at a grown-up Anna, played by Lohan, and Lilo & Stitch featuring a blend of live-action and CGI that will feature original Stitch actor, Chris Sanders. Fandango announced that Wicked pre-sales, which went live last week for the November 22 release, are only second this year behind pre-sales of Deadpool & Wolverine. This also puts Wicked at the highest for advance ticket sales this year for a PG-rated movie and the third of all time in that category, standing up against Disney films Frozen II and 2019’s The Lion King. Daniel Ezra who previously starred in Netflix's All American has joined the cast of Paramount and Edgar Wright's The Running Man and will star alongside Glen Powell and Katy O'Brien. Henry Cavill has signed on to star in Voltron for Amazon MGM Studios, a live action film based on the 1980s animated TV series that followed a team of space explorers who pilot a giant super robot known as Voltron and was adapted from several Japanese anime TV series from Toei Animation. Hit Netflix rom com series Nobody Wants This starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell has been renewed for a second season. Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan who executive produced HBO's Girls have come on board as executive producers and showrunners for Season 2. Horror slasher Terrifier 3 opened ahead of expectations this weekend to take the number one spot at the box office, pulling in over $18 million dollars domestically, while Joker 2 had a historic drop off of 81% in its second weekend, only taking in $7 million dollars domestically. Radio Silence Productions is returning for a sequel to 2019 cult horror film Ready or Not. Star of the first film Samara Weaving will return for the sequel and Guy Busick and Ryan Murphy who wrote the original will return to write. AppleTV+ has released the first trailer for Silo season 2 starring Rebecca Ferguson. The series debuts on November 15th. The hunt is on for a host for the upcoming Oscars and sources tell Deadline that the tentative plan is to use an ensemble of rotating hosts and ABC has approached Amy Poehler, Dwayne Johnson, and the duo of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman about hosting the show. AppleTV+ has renewed Gary Oldman led spy drama series Slow Horses for a 6th season. A fifth season renewal was announced earlier this year. Prime Video has released a teaser trailer for season 3 of Invincible and has set Thursday, February 6, 2025 for the season premiere. James Gunn confirmed on social media Tuesday that Krypto the Superdog will feature in his upcoming "Superman" film. The announcement was made in celebration of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month this October. Sony has set a release date for its upcoming Until Dawn video game adaptation film of April 25th, 2025. Until Dawn is directed by David F. Sandberg and was written by Gary Dauberman.

Joker Folie à Deux Flops, Andrew Garfield Talks Return as Spidey, State of Star Wars

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes. Joker: Folie a Deux, the long awaited and much discussed follow up to 2019’s surprise hit Joker, finally hit theaters last weekend and the numbers across the board, critically and financially, leave something to be desired. The $200 million-budgeted, psychological thriller/musical/courtroom drama sequel debuted to just $37 million domestically, a soft bow certainly impacted by poor critical reviews and a D CinemaScore from audiences – a record worst for the comic book film genre. While promoting his new film We Live In Time via an interview with Esquire, Andrew Garfield spoke on his willingness to reprise his role as The Amazing Spider-Man, saying quote, “For sure, I would 100% come back if it was the right thing, if it’s additive to the culture, if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into. I love that character, and it brings joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I’m joyful in return.” Last week The Hollywood Reporter released an editorial analysis of the state of the Star Wars franchise after being bought by Disney 12 years ago. The report crunched and discussed numbers including budgets, revenues, critical and audience reviews, viewership, and streaming subscriptions, among other verticals for all the projects beginning with The Force Awakens through The Acolyte. The latest buzz from the rumor mill via The Production List, Blue Beetle and Cobra Kai star Xolo Mariduena appears to be attached to Marvel Studios Nova series. While it's still far from official casting, if true, the move could have implications for Jaime Reyes’ as-of-yet unclear future in James Gunn’s DCU. Spyglass has set the release date for Scream VII as Feb 27, 2026, with Neve Campbell officially reprising her role and franchise creator Kevin Williamson returning as director. Paramount is developing a live-action/CG Rugrats film, directed by Jason Moore of Pitch Perfect, with a script by SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidell. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star and creator Rob McElhenney has confirmed that the show will be shooting a crossover episode with the cast of Abbott Elementary, which also takes place in Philadelphia. James Hawes, an established TV creator who most recently directed a string of episodes of the Gary Oldman spy series Slow Horses, has been tapped to helm the first two episodes of Lanterns for Max. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Katy O’Brian, the rising actress who gained notice with Love Lies Bleeding, is joining Glen Powell in The Running Man, Paramount’s adaptation of the Stephen King novel Will Smith is set to reunite with director Michael Bay for the first time in 30 years for a new Netflix action movie titled Fast and Loose. The film follows a man who wakes up in Mexico with no memory and discovers he has been living a double life as both a CIA agent and a crime lord. Netflix has canceled the Jeff Goldblum led series Kaos after one season. Prey star Amber Midthunder has joined the second season of AppleTV+’s monsterverse series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The Mindy Kaling-led animated Scooby Doo spin off Velma has been canceled by Max after two seasons. Insider Jeff Sneider is adding another name to the list of potential actors to play John Stewart in the upcoming DC series Lanterns, reporting that 21 Bridges actor Stephen James has emerged as the front runner. Christopher Nolan’s next film with Universal now has a release date of July 17th, 2026 with Matt Damon in early talks to star.

Could Deadpool & Wolverine Win an Oscar? The Last of Us Season 2 Trailer and New DC Projects

Marvel Studios is truly going all-in on their only feature film this year, Deadpool & Wolverine. According to Variety, the studio plans to push for acknowledgment during awards season submitting for the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, Critics Choice, and even the Oscars. It’s Hugh Jackman’s performance as Wolverine that is driving this decision, as the studio plans to position the actor for the awards in the supporting actor category. Among other categories, the box office buster will likely find a spot in the Golden Globes’ new category of Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. HBO released the first trailer for The Last of Us Season 2 last week. With the melancholy musical theme from Pearl Jam in the background, the trailer shows Joel and Ellie’s past catching up to them five years after the events of season one. We also see a lot of new cast members including Danny Ramirez, Jeffrey Wright, and Catherine O’Hara. The Hollywood Reporter learned that DC Studios is developing a villains-centric movie centered around the characters Bane and Deathstroke. While no director has been selected yet, Captain America: Brave New World writer Matthew Orton is working on the script. On the hero side, a new animated film was greenlit and will be called Dynamic Duo - focusing on Dick Grayson and Jason Todd as the Robins in their early years. The feature film will use what’s called Momo animation, a blend of CGI, stop-motion, and motion capture. Maggie Smith, the two-time Oscar and four-time Emmy winner best known for her work in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Harry Potter, and Downton Abbey has died. She was 89. Oscar nominee Tim Roth has become the latest high-profile name to join the cast of Netflix’s Peaky Blinders movie and will join star Cillian Murphy as well as Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan. Variety has learned exclusively that Bill Hader and Duffy Boudreau are teaming up to develop a comedy pilot script at HBO. The official logline for the untitled project states, “A woman in a small town has a big secret revealed.” Hader and Boudreau will serve as co-writers and executive producers on the project. Previously, the two collaborated on HBO's Barry. Deadline has learned that Aaron Pierre and Stephan James have emerged as top choices to star alongside Kyle Chandler in Lanterns. 8. Marvel’s Thunderbolts* Teaser Reaction, Green Lantern Has Been Cast, Transformers: One Disappoints

    25 SEPT.

Marvel’s Thunderbolts* Teaser Reaction, Green Lantern Has Been Cast, Transformers: One Disappoints

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes. Marvel Studios surprised fans with our first official glimpse of the upcoming Thunderbolts* film, by quietly dropping the teaser trailer Monday morning. The footage, set to the tune of Where is My Mind? by The Pixies, features Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, most heavily, and is in keeping with descriptions that came out of both D23 and San Diego Comic Con earlier this year, along with a few surprises. The search for the DCU’s Hal Jordan has finally come to an end, according to sources from The Hollywood Reporter, with Emmy winner Kyle Chandler set to star in the HBO Lanterns series. Chandler’s name was not among the top contenders being bandied about the last few weeks, which included the likes of Timothy Olyphant and Chris Pine, as well as Josh Brolin, as we previously reported. The Lanterns series, developed by Ozark’s Chris Mundy, Lost’s Damon Lindelof and Eisner Award winner Tom King, has often been likened to HBO’s True Detective in terms of tone and story. Seems like we’ve been celebrating more box office wins than losses as of late, but Transformers: One was decidedly less than meets the eye, at least with audiences, as the animated prequel debuted to a soft $25 million, a near franchise low. The muted response may come as a bit of a surprise coming of the heels of strong critic reviews and an A Cinemascore, but neither were enough to dethrone reigning box office champ BeetleJuice BeetleJuice, which just held the top spot, making $26 million in its third week. Last week, Warner Brothers released the first trailer for Mickey 17, Bong Joon Ho's highly anticipated sci-fi film starring Robert Pattinson, Mark Ruffalo, Steven Yeun, Naomie Ackie, and Toni Collette. The film arrives in theaters on January 31, 2025. AMC has canceled Orphan Black: Echoes, after one season. Set in the near future, the sequel series starring Krysten Ritter shared the same world as the BBC cult hit starring Tatiana Maslany. Netflix’s One Piece has cast Joe Manganiello as "Mr. 0" and Lera Abova as "Miss All Sunday" for Season 2. Director-writer Jared Bush is replacing Jennifer Lee as chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Lee will return to a filmmaking role at the company and will focus on writing and directing Frozen 3 and executive producing Frozen 4. Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for Squid Game season 2 which begins streaming on December 26th. Netflix announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, an animated film debuting on February 11, 2025, with Doug Cockle reprising his voice role as Geralt of Rivia from the CD Projekt Red video games. An exclusive clip is now available online. Netflix has dropped the first teaser for Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, an animated series adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video game created by Ubisoft. Liev Schreiber will voice Sam Fisher, the protagonist of the series. Warner Bros has confirmed that Baz Luhrmann’s next feature film at the studio will be Jehanne d’Arc, an epic story about the French teenage military commander Joan of Arc. Tamara Smart is joining Percy Jackson and the Olympians as Thalia Grace, the demigod daughter of Zeus. She’ll recur in season two, which is in production and slated for a 2025 premiere. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are set to star in Emerald Fennell‘s feature adaptation of Wuthering Heights. MRC has tapped LuckyChap Entertainment to produce the film that is based on author Emily Brontë’s classic novel of the same name. Warner Brothers has released the first trailer and poster for Sinners, the Prohibition era horror film from Ryan Coolger starring Michael B. Jordan that has been under wraps for the past year. The film hits theaters on March 7th, 2025. Daveed Diggs has been cast as a series regular for the fifth and final season of Amazon’s The Boys.
