Greetings Time Travelers!
03/12/2020
This is Captain Obvious coming to you from 1988. If it’s 2020, then I’m too late and the revolution has already begun. Don’t be too hard yourself - you wouldn’t have believed me if I had warned you last year anyway. It’s best to relax and listen to these dry-as-sandpaper lectures to gain understanding of the plans your new overlords have in store for you. These lectures are no longer theory for you, but manifested in your very streets. Think of it as the film Annihilation - it’s much easier not to resist ‘The Shimmer’ but to just accept your fate. Alternatively, think of this as that 1980’s teen movie trying to warn you about the dangers of bullies in control of your reality and 2020 being that cruel cafeteria joke of which you are the brunt and last to know. Happy listening!

Listening to the Mises Institute’s thoughts on Karl Marx is akin to listening to a vegan’s thoughts on barbecue beef brisket. Their “educational” work is void of peer-reviewed studies and heavy on dogma. It’s hard to tell the truth when you’re paid to do otherwise. Looking for an honest podcast about Marx? Listen to Prof. Richard Wolff, PhD and Prof. David Harvey PhD.
Boring as hell

But we came to learn, and teach it does. Take notes if you're coming in on a whim, it takes you deeply in Marxism like you purchased the textbooks yourself.
Good Overview of Marx Given the Inherent Time Restraints

Some of the speakers make reference to Gorbachev, indicating the 1988 reference point of these lectures. This is is only a problem in certain places when the speakers talk about fixed and transitory capital. One speaker state something to the effect of (Im paraphrasing) "If Marx was right and we were to only view capital in a transitory state, then it would be ridiculous to do business in America, and we would see a massive movement of corporations overseas to find the cheapest sources of labor.Obviously this is not the case". Obviously this is the case in the globalized, free trade world of the 21st century; which may lead some to argue the Marxism is not nearly as dead as these lectures portray it. Other than being a little dated, the lectures were very solid and informative. I recommend them highly.
