Masculinity & Men's Circles

🤼‍♂️What does it mean to be a man? It's a big question, and I doubt I have a full answer, but I feel that at least in American culture, we've developed a very narrow view of what masculinity is and can be, and that it's defined by the insecurities we've been conditioned to care about. ⁣ ⁣ When I look at this country, and much of the world, I see a lack of intimacy between men and within themselves.⁣ ⁣ We often put up barriers, aggression, and silence towards anything that may confront the challenging part of ourselves; especially when it has to do with the closest relationships in our lives. ⁣ ⁣ It's a really tiring game, and though I believe we should have compassion and understanding for why so many of us do what we do, we also need to, and have the opportunity to, grow through it. ⁣ ⁣ Last night I went to my first Men's Circle. It was a beautiful experience, and I think it has a lot to offer for individuals and grass-roots community building. ⁣ ⁣ The main feeling I left with was one of wanting more.⁣ ⁣ If you're interested in participating in something like this, reach out to me and I'll try to connect you or follow accounts like @sacredsons.⁣ ⁣ Had some issues with the sound on this one but hopefully, it's coherent. ⁣ ⁣ Peace🙏⁣
