    Our guests for this episode run a specialist consultancy organisation called Storm Birds Organisational Strategies where they work with businesses to prepare for and respond to issues and crises through strategy and communication. Leonie Vandeven has twenty years’ experience in the volatile aviation industry. In that time she developed and delivered strategies for a variety of complex and high-profile projects including Brisbane’s new runway, Royal Family visits, international airline launches, the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and the 2014 G20 Summit.o Her business partner at Storm Birds, Jane Hedger, has spent more than thirty years working across Queensland Government and not-for-profit organisations. Jane has been responsible for state-wide media and communications for Queensland Health, and the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. She has delivered state-wide services, operational reviews, and pandemic, emergency and disaster communications management.

    Our guest for this episode has a fine-art degree in printmaking, but somehow ended up as one of Queensland’s top Creative Directors creating award-winning work for brands like Queensland Transport, Suncorp Bank and Tourism Queensland to name a few. Nick Deane has owned three of his own agencies starting with Decoder fifteen years ago. With a talented team of twenty-eight passionate staff he created the full-service-agency which he named Nick-Did-This. Recently, though, Nick has transformed his agency and renamed it Wonderkarma. It’s a new name from the same founder with the same team. So, what’s changed?

    Episode 1: Daniel Gschwind

    Our guest for this episode has had a long career of over twenty years at the Queensland Tourism Industry Council. Daniel Gschwind is also a board member of the National Tourism Alliance, Deputy Chair of the Reef and Rainforest Research Centre, and a member of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. As the Tourism Council’s Chief Executive, an organisation which represents the interests of the tourism industry in Queensland, Daniel is well placed to share his insights on Organisational Communication.
