Hijacked Nation: Donald Trump’s attack on America’s greatness
Hijacked Nation, Donald Trump’s attack on America’s greatness tracks key developments from the Donald Trump presidency, his subsequent election loss denial, and the aftermath with President Joe Biden’s decision to step aside in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris through essays from Lean to the Left. Order now https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DK49QHP5 These past years have been marked by discord following Trump’s refusal to accept defeat in 2020, his role in encouraging the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, and the aftermath of those developments, including his felony convictions related to his election loss denial and hush money payments to adult sex queen Stormy Daniels. Robert catches up with busy author and journalist Bob Gatty, founder and editor of the Lean to the Left blogsite (www.leantotheleft.net), and host of its companion Lean to the Left podcast, and C J Waldron, a college English professor, writer, and analyst. Together, with contributions from writer V. Susan Hutchinson, they call out the mean presidency – and subsequent candidacy – of Donald Trump. “As this is written, it’s less than 20 days to Election Day when America will decide whether to return to the dark days of a Donald Trump presidency or embrace the joyful, hopeful, competent presidency of Vice President Kamala Harris. Literally our democracy is at stake,” says Gatty. “Our job,” adds Waldron, “is to preserve American ideals until America comes to its senses.” Whether Trump wins or loses, Hijacked Nation is must-reading for anyone concerned about the damage wreaked upon our nation by Trump and the Republican party, which he effectively hijacked to do his bidding. It is available now on pre-order at Amazon.com. About the Authors In 2017, Bob Gatty founded the Not Fake News blog in response to Trump’s complaining about “fake news” and calling journalists “the enemy of the people.” It was renamed Lean to the Left and the podcast was launched in 2020. The podcast and this book are especially relevant now considering Trump's recent threat to use the military against his political opponents, whom he describes as "the enemy from within." Gatty worked for newspapers, UPI, and covered Washington for national business publications. His company, G-Net Strategic Communications, assisted trade associations with their communications needs. During his career, Gatty also worked on Capitol Hill as press secretary and chief of staff to Reps. Edwin Forsythe and James Florio of New Jersey. A PA native and Maryland transplant, he now lives in Myrtle Beach, SC. C J Waldron lived in Schenectady, N.Y., before moving to Myrtle Beach. He is currently an adjunct English professor at Horry Georgetown Technical College in Conway, S.C. Waldron previously was an English and Special Education teacher in Schenectady. V. Susan Hutchinson, a contributor to the book, is a Chicago native who worked in the health science field before moving to Conway in 2017, and is a member of the state AARP Executive Council. Hutchinson has blogged on Lean to the Left for the past four years.
