Messes, Movements, and Monuments

American Reformation

The early church welcomed the mess of various cultures, a movement of Jesus followers began, and over time monuments were created. Here is the big question: Are we truly looking at how Paul and the Apostles released and multiplied churches…or are our monuments in the Western/established church too large?

Listen in as we explore:

  • Embracing  the mess
  • Creating intentional connections/relationships with cross cultural opportunities in your city - it may be as simple as taking a walk and starting a conversation with a Latino community, a homeless community, an African American community, a Native American community - this is what Paul seemed to do.
  • Letting the movement of the Gospel spread.
  • Resist building immoveable monuments that slow the spread of the Gospel.

Quotable Takeaway:
"When we focus on growing the church, we might make disciples in the process; but when we focus on making disciples, God's church will surely grow."
