For our June episode of Mind Yo Business, your podcast master hosted Karan Rastall, all A’s, in the Pritchett Brothers studio. We started this episode the Midwestern way by talking about the heat, sharing a dad joke, and then a great conversation began!
Karan shares about being born into an Army family abroad (though the location is never revealed) and growing up in New Castle, IN as one of four children. She talks about how uninclined she was towards sports and how she sought an escape from small-town life. After a roller coaster ride to a bachelor's in Elementary Education, Karan shares how she ended up working full-time at a bank.
We talk about the good times at IU: Preacher Dan on the corner and students in the green; sound advice for those still in college; why Karan never stepped foot in a classroom after completing student teaching; and so much more! This episode wraps up with a conversation about how Karan ended up where she is now – working at Ruoff Mortgage as a Senior Loan Officer.

He shares some stories about working on the force and his experience working for SWAT! The conversation takes a left turn into sports before Andrew pries some great insight from his guest.

In this episode of Mind Yo’ Business, we brought on a long-time friend and fellow small business owner to share how he got to where he is today. Matt Schulz is an attorney in Monroe County and is co-owner of Schulz Reagan, LLC
Matt was born and raised in Bedford, Indiana. After graduating high school, he attended Indiana University to double major in Criminal Justice and Political Science. Matt was prompted to join the army after the atrocities of 9/11 and utilized the G.I. Bill to attend Maurer School of Law after his honorable discharge in 2006. He shares with us his very first case fresh out of law school, his learning experiences serving as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, and the struggle to balance opening a small business and family. 
Andrew and Matt also have a conversation about Matt’s political campaign, the risks of opening your own practice, the importance of building a solid team and building relationships in the community, and more about running a small business. This conversation holds so much valuable information for anyone operating a small business, or anyone interested in taking that risk!

Your Podcast Master, Andrew Lambert, brought another special guest into the studio for our February episode of Mind Yo Business. Not only is Friar Gabriel a Brother in the Fransican Church, he likes to shred on his skateboard and had a lot to share with us!
Friar Gabriel, formerly known as Brandon, was born in New Hampshire and was raised Catholic with his brothers and sisters both there and, later, in Virginia Beach. He recalls the moment he found skateboarding “at the bottom of a mountain on a gravel driveway”. Since taking his vows and becoming a Franciscan Friar of the Immaculate (FFI), he has devoted his time to traveling the country and sharing the gospel message through skateboarding.
He shares a story about his time in Australia when he steered a young man in the right direction, he discusses two Bloomington skater extraordinaires who he sees as elevating the sport, and Andrew and Brother Gabriel discuss the stereotypes surrounding skate culture and how Brother Gabriel is working to change that.
This episode begins in a unique way and ends with a typical discussion of Lambert Rolls. Brother Gabriel gives Lambert Cafe a seal of approval for throwing bread at patrons. Don’t miss this great conversation!
