    The Business of Stunt Mastery and Human Movement Approach to Storytelling and Life.

    The Pritchett Brothers Studio was thrilled to invite this final guest of the season and landed an interview with him.  Just like many of the other final recordings, we were honored when a well liked person, who also happens to have incredible connections to pop culture and National TV exposure, shared his story of success, transformation, and personal growth with us. Patrick Kelly, originally from Indiana, initially pursued pre-med and biology before transitioning to folklore, anthropology, psychology, and ultimately focusing on martial arts and human development after graduating from IU. He moved from biological research to martial arts, where he found a rewarding career in human movement storytelling. Starting in 2008/2009, Patrick began his stunt work, involving stage combat and martial arts performances for TV and film, including Sherlock Holmes and Vikings. He emphasized the importance of subverting expectations, creating emotional moments, and ensuring the narrative takes center stage in stunts. His Filipino martial arts background influenced his approach to storytelling, focusing on intent and result. Patrick advocates for discipline, dependability, and maintaining personal connections to foster growth. He goes by the motto "train and fight smarter, not harder" and enjoys hobbies like cycling and walking his dogs to avoid burnout and maintain balance. Kelly believes in being a reliable team player, continually improving, and seizing opportunities through preparedness and risk.     The Business of Customer Service, Business, and Life with Joy

    For our November episode of Mind Yo Business, we invited the 80s hair expert and Bedford native, Joy Dorsey, into the Pritchett Brothers studio for a great conversation! After graduating from Bloomington North, and earning a degree in secretarial arts from Ivy T ech, Joy began her career journey at Ponderosa (anyone remember that place??). She shares how her experience working in a restaurant, combined with her 9 years spent working in collections for Unity Physician Group, gave her the skills needed to respond to customers of all types of temperaments. Joy gives great advice to people who have to respond to angry customers – let them get everything off their chest before you respond with compassion. We hear about how getting laid off from Unity was a positive, how she met her husband through Meineke, and the joys of being a grandma. This conversation travels from rating the Australian Olympic breakdancer to discussing the potential of conquering her fear of water and learning how to swim with her grandson.     Andrew was ecstatic to have this firecracker of a guest in the Pritchett Brothers studio for this episode of Mind Yo Business – Natalie Holden. Born in Evansville and raised in Bloomington, Natalie grew up in a “red-headed raucous” of a family! Her words.   Growing up, she was surrounded by work ethic.     The Business of Books, Community, Controversy, and Connections with Literature

    The Business of Storytelling, Connectivity, and News Media in an Ever-Changing Environment

    The Pritchett Brothers' Studio was thrilled to welcome the award-winning faculty member Ron Osgood for the August episode.  Ron - or as the Podcast Master knew him "Professor Osgood" - helped to set the stage for a few milestones on the show.  Ron is the second father-son duo to be interviewed but the first to be on the same season.  Ron is the second Telecommunication and Media faculty member to join the program since Robert Affe in Season 2 and Ron has been such a positive influence in media education that he has taught our fearless producer, Wes Lasher and Kate Miller, our guest from Season 3.   This episode allows Ron to use his amazing storytelling skills to set the stage for his life, including the process of learning about being adopted and whether he can connect with biological parents, his time getting drafted and serving in Vietnam during the War, both learning and self-teaching technology from every generation, starting back in the 60's, to how he ended up with several Emmy Awards for amazing work on multiple documentaries, one of which tells the story of families impacted by the Vietnam War on both sides of the fight.   With grace and humbleness, Ron weaves his life story effortlessly sharing the drama and humor of his days hitchhiking, serving in the Navy, starting a family, teaching students while at sea, and so many other wonderful moments that you'll want to hear more.  Whether needing to redact his son's incorrect information or sharing concerns on whether Witcher could have an interesting story to document, this is an episode that you won't want to end.     The Business of Communications, Putting Family First, and Walking through Loss

    The July episode of Mind Yo’ Business is not one you want to miss! Your Podcast Master, Andrew Lambert, can barely contain his excitement for this conversation. A Bloomingtonian since 1982, this month’s guest has an abundance of life experience and sound advice to share. Randy Bush is a Hoosier through and through. He grew up with two older siblings in Indianapolis during the 60s and 70s, in the days when walking to school every day was required because the school bus route didn’t include his neighborhood. Randy is a die-hard Pacers fan, a self-proclaimed geek, and a total mama’s boy. He shares that he was known by his friends then, and some friends still today, as “no fun Randy” for being a mama’s boy in every situation. After graduating from Arsenal Technical High School, Bloomington captured Randy’s attention when he came to Indiana University for college to study communications and captured his heart when he met his wife while working as a shoe salesman. After working for years as an auto salesman, he left to work as a mortgage loan originator to allow time to truly be there for his children. Living by mottos such as, “Do what you love and good things will come” and “The world doesn’t stop when tragedy comes” (accompanied by a “just do it” mentality) have brought him to his career now. Having lost both parents very young, Randy has taken that tragedy and now works with families experiencing loss as a Family Counselor with Everstory. He shares stories about end-of-life celebrations, Hinkle’s Hamburgers, and Andrew shares his end-of-life plans to see if they would fly.     For our May episode of Mind Yo Business, your podcast master invited Johnny Goode into the Pritchett Brothers studio for a very intriguing conversation   As the current CEO of MSP Manufacturing, and a podcast aficionado (this is his 3rd or 4th podcast now), Andrew was excited to dive into this episode with Johnny!    Born in La Verne, CA, Johnny made his way over to Indiana when his father moved the family to the Midwest for business.   After completing elementary and middle school here, the family returned to California where Johnny completed high school.   He shares how experiences studying abroad and participating in the naval program helped prepare him for the next phase of his life!    After coming back to Indiana to attend IU for Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation, Johnny began his stint with IU PD. He shares some stories about working on the force and his experience working for SWAT!
