When 18-year-old Niamh Maye went missing in 2002, her family did everything they could to help the police find her. But, like so many missing persons cases, there comes a time when the leads dry up and there’s nowhere left to look. Researching what was to be a single episode, the Casefile host found so many intriguing elements, he took four years to make this incredible series. Hosted on Acast. Heartbreaking

This was done so professionally and beautifully and spent time on all the ways Niamh’s family continues to look for her and how investigators with honor and compassion worked to solve this crime. Please ignore the negative comments. These people are trolling and just wish to spread more pain. Niamh’s family is so beautiful. Her mother’s words will always stay with me. Blessings to them.
Well done

Took me a while to get used to the narrators cadence/phrasing. It reminds me of someone trying to sound like an AI voice which almost made me not listen. But the interviews are well done, heartbreaking story.
This is so good - and I usually don’t care for series

Really well done. The storytelling and arrangement — it shows it took years to make this. My heart goes out to Niamh and her lovely family.
Distracting narration
2月9日
The case is captivating, however, I found the narrator’s cadence and pronunciation to be really distracting. I noticed that whenever a word ends in a “d” he tends to pronounce the next word as if it begins with a “d”. There’s a lot of “and d’Garth” or “and d’Jack” and so on. I though Niamh’s mothers name was Dan rather than Ann for a while. Once I noticed this, I couldn’t unhear it.
Excellent podcast

Incredible work from the Casefile team. Niamh’s story is both heart-wrenching and hopeful. It’s a refreshing change from the scripted Casefile episodes to the more open dialogue/interview discussions between the host and Niamh’s family, friends, police and others involved. I personally enjoyed the fact that the host became so involved with the family, it would seem strange to me to spend 4 years of your life heavily invested in something and not become involved and invested with the family. For me, it really shows who “Casey” is and brings a level of humanity to him. Reminding us all that he isn’t just some guy behind a microphone, he’s out there bringing Niamh’s story back to life and spreading awareness to try and help bring Niamh home to her family.
Spellbinding

I can’t stop listening to this story. Niamh and her family are unforgettable. The voices across the episodes are haunting. It’s an amazing series. I hope new information comes to light about Niamh as a result of this podcast

Excellent Work

I am always impressed by the quality of work put into Casefile Presents podcasts. This case is heartbreaking, but I think the team did a great job bringing Niamh’s case to light and discussing the different theories. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Niamh. This podcast really made sure to tell us about what a wonderful person she was and I think that’s an important aspect that is often overlooked by podcasts. They spent a significant amount of time sharing, not only the mysterious, but also the beautiful, aspects of Niamh’s short life. And people saying it’s an AI voice are wrong. That’s the way the anonymous host speaks in all his podcasts and I don’t think it’s an issue at all.
Great but…

Great storytelling and research; however, the podcaster’s montone reading voice was distracting from the story. The multitude of interviews from family, police, friends, and others almost made up for it.
Unsolved and Uninspiring
2024/10/26
Why didn’t her family just change the spelling of her name to Neve? It was such a distraction and seemed like a very odd solution to give a child a name and then mispronounce it the rest of her life. Moving on though, the case isn’t so much unsolved as un-prosecuted. It’s not a huge mystery who did it and whilst I am very sorry for any family who suffers the loss of a loved one due to murder, these spin-off series’ tend to go on too long and indulge in a great deal of detail that adds little to the basic premise. The narrator seems overly-involved with the family and this too is a distraction from the usual excellent storytelling of the parent series.
