Mixed Reviews with Allison & Aubrey

As a Black man I’ve recently felt that women of color handled race stuff way better than us, which is what Aubrey does. Allison handles it more like us and that’s a little concerning. Like she’s coming very hard and aggressive about things. And I’m not saying none of that is valid or she shouldn’t but it just hits me in a way that feels like I should hate everyone and I don’t want to see the world that way. It doesn’t feel like it’s coming from a place of compassion about Black people, it’s more like anger about everyone else, a militancy with no care for your cause. Maybe it’s just me, maybe I should’ve never put you guys in a superior monolith like this, but even then I do think Allison should sort her feeling about these issues a little more. Could it be that she’s more sad about this than angry but has to express them through anger so as not to be perceived as weak? Sadness is ok too, we won’t judge you for it. Of course they’ll probably respond to all this with a ‘screw you Jonny, you’re sexist’ and that’s fine, expected even, I’m just trying to give constructive criticism. I am still gonna give you 5 stars cause #1 you’re sistas and I don’t wanna mess up your rating and #2 I want this pod to live up to my rating one day. I hope that when I come back a few months or weeks later you guys are in a better place.

The insights both of you provide are great and so unique. As the child of a Hispanic dad and white mom, some of the perspectives you provide really hit home. I feel like a fly on the wall of a wonderful dynamic and the real talk that happens between sisters. Thank you for putting this out here!

So much fun to listen to! They’re hilarious and have great energy. Good mix of topics; can be light and fun while also being insightful, and then talk about more serious topics that many can relate to.
