Finding Work-Life Integration and Reigniting Your Spark, with business owner Emily A. Hay

Finding Work-Life Integration and Reigniting Your Spark, with business owner Emily A. Hay

Today, I am talking to Emily A. Hay. She is a mother, wife, entrepreneur, and the founder of Hay There Social Media, a company that upscales women to become independent social media managers. Emily and her husband were also featured in the Fairplay documentary, produced by Reese Witherspoon.

Emily talks about her journey as a business owner, and now mother, and how she achieves what she calls "work-life integration." We discuss what it looks like to reignite your passion whether you're a working mom or stay-at-home mom, how to put resentment aside when finding the right balance for your family, and how even the smallest steps towards your goal can get you to where you want to be.

    Sober in Italy?

    Sober in Italy?

Who could go to Europe and not drink wine?! It is something that seemed impossible to me years ago when I started considering sobriety. Now, after almost 3 years sober, I can't believe that silly thought stopped me so many times.

I recently visited Italy with my husband, and I'm happy to report that Italy is just as amazing, if not better, while sober.

On today's episode I break down what a sober trip to Italy looked like for me. I'll give you a hint: it was beautiful, adventurous, care-free, and a memory I will *clearly* remember for the rest of my life. It's amazing how much you can experience when you aren't hungover!

If you're sober curious, I hope today's episode encourages you to take the leap of faith and just DO IT! You can do it and you will be so glad that you did.

    Mothers Need Growth & Contribution

    Mothers Need Growth & Contribution

*If you haven't already, I encourage you to listen to Part 1 of our Six Human Needs Episodes before diving into this one.

Today's episode is a deeper dive on the fifth & sixth human needs: Growth & Contribution. Everything in existence is either growing or dying. Humans need growth in every capacity: spiritually, intellectually, physically, and emotionally. Development in all four areas is key to a healthy life. And contribution is the act of looking beyond oneself, going beyond one's own needs, and giving to others with no hopes for or expected personal gain. It's contributing to other people, a cause, or to a movement. It's a way to leave a legacy, a mark on the world, to make a difference.

Join me as I discuss the positive and negative ways I fulfill my need for growth & contribution as a mother of 3. I hope this brings perspective to the way this need is (or is not) being filled in your life.

    Mothers Need Love & Connection

*If you haven't already, I encourage you to listen to Part 1 of our Six Human Needs Episodes before diving into this one.

Today's episode is a deeper dive on the fourth human need: Love & Connection. We all hope and strive for love - to give and to receive. All humans need to feel connected with themselves and others with whom we can share our love. We all know you're giving, giving, giving love to your children every single day. But are you giving that same love to yourself? Are you receiving it from others?

Join me as I discuss the positive and negative ways I fulfill my need for love & connection as a mother of 3. I hope this brings perspective to the way this need is (or is not) being filled in your life.

Kristin Bauman ,

Exceptionally honest and personally challenging.

My first Motherload Pod was the original interview with Lauren Murray and I was immediately drawn into the conversation, so much so that I’ve listened again and shared with other friends on a sobriety journey. I took so many great lessons from both Leslie and Lauren from parts 1 and 2. Another one the resonated with me was the one on Certainty. The positive choices we make vs the negative choices we make that bring about our Certainty. I am so drawn to this podcast because Leslie is brutally honest, she is vulnerable in sharing her own experiences with Motherhood and how she’s learned to better fulfill her own needs. I believe we can all identify with so much of this content. The Motherload Podcast inspires me to dive deeper into my own needs and examine who I am as a Mother, as a Wife, as an Individual, a child of God etc. It pushes me into deeper thought and challenges me to be the best version of myself. I anticipate future episodes. Grateful. Xo
