Conscious Partnerships - in Business and Life with Andrea Parker and Mel Mills Part 2

In Part 2 of our conversation with Andrea Parker and Mel Mills, Kim gets to ask more questions about their relationships and business.
Andrea and Mel talk about their business, FunXperience, which is helping visionary leaders as they go through their evolution. They want to create a safe space for established business owners who want to step into the next level of their leadership. These two are conscious about making a space where leaders can feel safe, understood, and free to show up and have fun. They’ve developed a four-month container with in-person events, immersions, activities, and they are currently running their beta group!
“We were either going to grow together or grow apart, and what we always wanted to have a great relationship over anything.”
    Andrea and Mel also share:

How their differences as individuals shaped them as a couple

How owning a business together has changed their relationship

How they prioritized their relationship through all the highs and lows of life

After 15 years together, they admit that they don’t have everything figured out about their relationship. They still have arguments about the dishwasher (which led to Kim sharing her ongoing Dish War with Darren), but what has helped them is prioritizing each other and working towards their goals together.

    What's Around the Next Corner???

    What's Around the Next Corner???

In this episode of Mr. & Mrs. CEO, listen in to hear the banter between Darren and Kim about the principles of entrepreneurship and life. They share stories and reflections inspired by a recent conversation with a friend diving headfirst into a new business venture. The friend's determination to make the business work led her to door-to-door outreach.
Darren then shares stories of his years spent door-knocking, and how that eventually led to large contracts and a 30-year business relationship. These stories are examples of successes that come after years of putting in the work.
Darren and Kim also debunk the myth of passive success and share that true achievement requires more than wishful thinking. It demands dedication and a willingness to embrace the grind, even when things get tough.
This episode encourages others to reflect on the work they put into their business, to knock on every door, and to keep on going, knowing that the reward might be just around the corner.

    Daring to Make it Happen

    Daring to Make it Happen

In this solo episode with Kimberly, she shares a topic that she’s wanted to talk about for some time: pursuing your dreams. Not the fluffy, live-your-dream-life kind of conversation, but about doing whatever it takes to pursue your dreams.
At a recent networking event, she had the opportunity to meet with entrepreneurs from all over the country. And at every table she sat at, with each group she talked to, there were stories of people who left their corporate jobs to step into their dream of working for themselves or scaling up a side business. Most of them didn’t know how to take their business to the next level, which is why they joined the networking event in the first place. They wanted to hear from people who had done it, to learn something that would have taken them years to figure out on their own.
“Doing nothing will create nothing. if we're taking some action and taking those steps forward, we move towards that bigger goal and that bigger dream.” -Kimberly Heibert
Kimberly also shares how during this experience, she felt like she was the dumbest person in the room, but that a lot of times being uncomfortable and stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to growth. If you’re a business owner who connects with other entrepreneurs beyond your immediate circle, you’ll hear stories about others going through the same challenges you are and realize it’s all part of the process.

    Know, Like and Trust

    Know, Like and Trust

    Hey hey hey!
Darren and Kimberley are back with another episode, and they're diving into the world of business and customer relationships. They discussed the topic of creating a successful brand. Kimberley asks Darren to share his insights into the key pillar of his business philosophy: the "know, like, and trust" factor.
Darren emphasizes the importance of working hard and focusing on the customer experience to build trust. He shares anecdotes about engaging with customers, highlighting the value of getting to know them personally. Kimberley chips in, discussing the digital space's "know, like, and trust" factor and how Darren's approach aligns with it.
They touch on the significance of rapport building, sharing stories, and creating connections beyond just business transactions. It’s nothing new, in fact, know like and trust are what Darren calls old school because it’s the way he’s always done business.
Darren's wisdom shines as he reflects on his 40 years of customer service, emphasizing the genuine relationships he forms with clients. Kimberley points out Darren's superpower: the ability to break the ice effortlessly and make people feel comfortable.
The conversation takes a turn to Darren's adeptness at surface-level conversations and how he uses them to initiate deeper connections.
“When you have trust, that is gold for your business development. This is where you get referrals. This is where you get call backs. And this is the least expensive customer acquisition, but the most powerful and valuable.  -Kim Hiebert
Kim and Darren hope you have a new approach to the timeless philosophy of "know, like, and trust" in business.
