Hidden Truth Behind Esther Smith’s Dispute with OFM Computer World

Arnold Baidoo, Counsellor Lutterodt, Kwasi Ernest, Akwasi Aboagye, QueenLet, Esther Smith, Dr Debrich Jeremiah, Tilly Akua, OFM Computer WorldThe contract between Ghanaian gospel musician Esther Smith and OFM Computer World, led by CEO Dr. Debrich Jeremiah Acheampong, has once again ignited debate on Peace 104.3 FM during Akwasi Aboagye’s Entertainment show. The discussion has drawn sharp comments from industry experts, most notably from Counsellor George Lutterodt, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, Kwasi Enerst, Tilly Akua Nipaa etc. Counsellor George Lutterodt’s Remarks During the broadcast, Rev. Dr. Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counselor Lutterodt, urged listeners to “queue up and listen” carefully to what OFM Computer World, its CEO Dr. Debrich Jeremiah Acheampong was saying. He remarked that the current dispute is like washing dirty linen in the wrong place, pointing out that Esther Smith’s actions could lead to unnecessary public disputes. “There is a deal in the thing that somebody must shut up to receive what must be received,” he stated—emphasizing that sometimes, silence is necessary for a beneficial outcome. According to Counsellor Lutterodt, and as reiterated by Dr. Debrich Jeremiah Acheampong, Esther Smith came to OFM Computer World with very little—a lack of a YouTube channel or no significant online presence—making the arrangement even more perplexing. He questioned why, if everything was set up online to allow money to flow through Esther Smith’s European accounts, her team would come to Ghana to change the login details and withdraw funds locally. Further, Lutterodt advised that if anyone—such as Ziega —has direct access to Esther Smith, they should meet in person and resolve the matter amicably. He stressed that granting multiple radio interviews would not help the case, particularly given Dr. Debrich’s significant investments in the project. As the discussion progressed, Nana Frimpong Ziega was seen laughing, which drew a sharp caution from Counsellor Lutterodt. He warned Ziga that instead of laughing, he should focus on finding a resolution, emphasizing that Dr. Debrich Jeremiah Acheampong had made significant contributions and investments that needed to be acknowledged. Counsellor Lutterodt further stated that in this matter, Esther Smith has been beaten in the division, reinforcing that she should reconsider her approach. He concluded his remarks by adding that “these people can give us something,” referring to OFM Computer World and the potential benefits that could still come from maintaining a good relationship. Festus Frimpong Gyebi - Ziega ’s Involvement Following these remarks, the discussion shifted to Ziega, who has been actively giving interviews and claiming to be Esther Smith’s Public Relations Officer (PRO). However, Counsellor Lutterodt cautioned Ziega to tread carefully, suggesting that such public pronouncements might complicate the issue further, especially when important contractual and financial details remain unresolved. QueenLet’s Role in the Matter It has also emerged that QueenLet, the gospel artist who organized Sing-A-thon in Germany, was the one who introduced Esther Smith to OFM Computer World. However, QueenLet reportedly feels that Esther Smith used her as a stepping stone to connect with OFM Computer World, which has led to her anger over the situation. The unfolding situation raises key questions about contractual obligations, digital rights management, and financial transactions in the gospel music industry. As discussions continue on Peace 104.3 FM,

Esther Smith owes OFM Computer World more than $240,000

Dr Debrich Jeremiah And Esther SmithIn a recent development within the Ghanaian gospel music industry, OFM Computer World Europe, a subsidiary of Multi Debrich Group Ltd Ghana, has initiated legal proceedings against renowned gospel artist Esther Smith. The company alleges that Esther Smith owes over $240,000, representing a 40% share of revenues from digital stores, as stipulated in their contractual agreement. Additionally, the percentage from YouTube earnings is yet to be calculated. Background of the Dispute On July 12, 2020, OFM Computer World, under the leadership of Dr. Debrich Jeremiah Acheampong, established the YouTube channel EstherSmithMusic to promote Esther Smith's gospel music career. This initiative was built upon the domain esthersmith.org, which remains under the company's control. A legally binding agreement, signed by Smith on June 16, 2020, recognized OFM Computer World as the rightful creator and manager of the channel, entrusting them with its technical and promotional management. However, without prior consultation or consent, Smith unilaterally altered the channel's password and recovery email, effectively excluding the original creators and managers. This action has raised significant legal and ethical concerns regarding contractual obligations and digital rights.Esther Smith Court case (Suit No. CCD/C2/26/24) Legal Proceedings and YouTube Intervention In response to the unauthorized takeover, OFM Computer World has formally petitioned YouTube Support to review the channel's ownership. The company has provided: The original signed agreement between OFM Computer World and Esther Smith. A copy of Smith's German National ID for identity verification. Official proof of the channel’s creation under the Gmail username esthersmithorg, linked to the domain esthersmith.org. Legal documentation from the Dansoman Court in Accra, confirming the case is under judicial review. Evidence of OFM Computer World’s active management of the channel prior to the unauthorized access change. The company has also escalated the matter to Google's Legal Support Team, seeking intervention to restore rightful ownership and ensure adherence to digital media agreements. Implications for Digital Content Ownership in the Music Industry This case underscores critical issues surrounding digital content ownership and management rights in the entertainment industry. Many artists rely on digital platforms such as YouTube for revenue generation, promotions, and audience engagement. However, disputes over ownership can arise when clear contractual agreements are not honored. Dr. Debrich Jeremiah Acheampong, CEO of OFM Computer World Europe and Multi Debrich Group Ltd Ghana, emphasized the importance of protecting digital assets and intellectual property: "Digital content management is a serious business. Companies invest time, expertise, and financial resources into building online platforms for artists. Unauthorized takeovers not only violate agreements but also undermine trust in the industry. This case is about ensuring that contractual obligations are honored and digital rights are protected." Call for Industry-Wide Regulations OFM Computer World is urging stakeholders in the music and entertainment industry to establish clearer regulations governing digital content ownership and managem...
