On a pitch-dark night in April 1989, a young man named Chip Flynn was shot in a Florida orange grove. His ex-girlfriend Kim was the only surviving witness and claimed a Black man had robbed, kidnapped, and killed Chip. A year later, Crosley Green was sentenced to death by an all-white jury for Flynn's murder—a crime Green insists he didn’t commit. "48 Hours" correspondent Erin Moriarty has followed this controversial case for 25 years, delving into inconsistencies — from coerced confessions to allegations of a racial hoax — that challenge the integrity of the verdict. Now, Moriarty shares exclusive recordings and new interviews with forensic experts, legal analysts, and Green himself from prison. Murder in the Orange Grove, an 8-episode series from “48 Hours,” offers the most comprehensive deep dive into this shocking case that leaves one man fighting desperately for his freedom. Justice for Crosley
Nov 13
The system has failed this man! The prosecutor had tunnel vision. He was looking to convict one black man and Crosley was his target. So many holes in this case. Proof beyond a reasonable doubt was not proven. Those on the jury should feel ashamed. If your going to bow to peer pressure excuse yourself from the process. A man sits in prison because you did not have the backbone to stick to your convictions. If a wittness, in the words of the prosecutor, are liers and not to be trusted why did he trust them to help convict? Yet he doesn’t trust them when they retracted their testimony and said they lied? The court should never be allowed to promise a witness something in return for their testimony. Never! Not on any case! And prosecutors that make such promises should not to be trusted. Why weren’t Kim’s hands tested for gunshot residue. Why did it take her so long to get help? How the heck did he shoot a gun with his hands tied behind his back? Didn’t anyone, but the police officer on the scene, think it strange that the victim did not say “a black man did this”. What about the truck tire prints? Perfect tire tracks with no evidence of a speedy departure…. Let’s not forget Crosley couldn’t even drive a stick. Investigating 101…. look at the last person who was with the victim. Maybe she didn’t do it, but maybe she did. One things for sure, Crosley looks way more innocent than Kim. The outcome of this case is heartbreaking. The family of the victim lost a son and sadly believe they got justice.
