This podcast by Michael Kenney is where its at. True crime told in gruesome detail. It’s sure to make your skin crawl and stomach turn. Michael has an educational background in Criminology. He is able to offer a unique perspective into the world and mind of a serial killer. It’s all done with his sultry, country voice and rockstar attitude. Spurts of comedy are weaved throughout the podcast. Dark humor tastefully delivered lightens these horrific true crime stories. Music & Murder also features rad independent artists during breaks. As a listener I appreciated the breaks because it allowed me to digest the heaviness of the content discussed. What makes this podcast standout is the hosts passion to give a voice to the victims and their families. Some sense of justice. He wants us to know their names, their stories, their suffering. The host wants it to keep you up at night. The victim’s stories to haunt your dreams. He wants the listener to feel the terror, fear, horror and despair of that thought/feeling of that could me or so and so. The shock entertainment element can be jolting at times. However I deliver it’s part of what makes the podcast work. It spurs us to care. To stand up. To say something. To do something. At least, I hope we all do. There is still much to unlock, discover and analyze when it comes to the ultra violent and dark world of serial killers. With that, this podcast will take you on an endless voyage. You’ll hunger to delve deeper into what makes a serial killer tick. Tune in!
