In what should have been the inaugural episode of Her Salti Words, Dr. Gail shares her journey through academia and the process of discovering her love for language. She talks about her work with the Refugee Community in Boise, Idaho and the importance of accommodating curriculum/teaching to the student's ability to speak English. Dr. Gail also touches on how language is used politically, her experience as a female in academia, kindness and how environment plays a role in shaping one's life.
Dr. Gail is an Associate Professor at Boise State University. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Oberlin College and a Phd in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching from the University of Arizona.
