Anne: I don't know that I would ever say that I had truly a superpower. (14:50) What I think I do have is when there is a problem, I have to solve it. Dog food is going green, thanks to Anne Carlson and her groundbreaking company, Jiminy's. By replacing traditional animal proteins with cricket protein, Anne has not only created a superfood for pets but also a solution to reduce the environmental impact of pet nutrition. “It’s like flipping a switch,” Anne explained. “One day, you’re feeding your dog something traditional and unsustainable. The next, you’re using Jiminy’s—less land, less water, and almost no greenhouse gases.” Cricket farming is remarkably efficient. Anne highlighted that an acre of land used for crickets can yield 65,000 pounds of protein annually, compared to just 265 pounds from chickens. Plus, crickets require significantly less water, a vital factor as global resources become scarcer. Not just eco-friendly, Jiminy's products are a boon for canine health. “Insect protein is packed with medium-chain fatty acids, antimicrobial peptides, and chitin,” Anne noted. “It helps dogs with allergies, gut health issues and even boosts immunity.” Jiminy's also recently completed a successful crowdfunding campaign on SMBX to raise working capital, a move Anne described as “an experiment.” Reflecting on the process, she noted the potential for even greater success with more effort on social media and outreach. Anne’s journey began with a pivotal conversation with her daughter about climate change, sparking her mission to make a difference. Today, Jiminy’s is not just feeding pets—it’s paving the way for a more sustainable planet. How to Develop Relentless Problem Solving As a Superpower Anne’s superpower is her unwavering drive to solve problems, fueled by curiosity and determination. “When there is a problem, I have to solve it,” she shared. Her passion for connecting the dots through research and science has driven her to create innovative solutions, from Jiminy’s to personal projects. Anne tackled a personal challenge when she and her husband renovated a cabin in the Sierra foothills. Starting with limited resources and an empty shell, they creatively repurposed materials from remodeled Bay Area homes, constructing a unique space that blended sustainability and affordability. Tips for Developing Relentless Problem Solving: * Ask Questions: Dig deep to truly understand the problem. * Stay Curious: Keep your mind open to unexpected solutions. * Embrace Research: Dive into the details to uncover opportunities. * Persist: When obstacles arise, explore alternative paths. By following Anne Carlson’s example and advice, you can make relentless problem-solving a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world. Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses. You do you! How AI Can Empower Nonprofits to Achieve Greater Impact

I’m not a financial advisor; Superpowers for Good should not be considered investment advice. Seek counsel before making investment decisions. Watch the show on television by downloading the e360tv channel app to your Roku, AppleTV or AmazonFireTV. You can also see it on YouTube. When you purchase an item, launch a campaign or create an investment account after clicking a link here, we may earn a fee. Engage to support our work. Devin: What is your superpower? Amy: I think my superpower is translating technology into impact and action… Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing countless industries and nonprofits are no exception. During this episode, Amy Neumann, the Founder and Executive Director of Resourceful Nonprofit, highlighted how AI can help nonprofits streamline operations and amplify their impact. Drawing from her book, Empower Your Nonprofit, Amy explained how AI offers unprecedented opportunities for mission-driven organizations to achieve more with fewer resources. “AI enables nonprofits to synthesize years of data into actionable insights,” Amy explained. She noted that this can help nonprofits create concise impact reports, donor presentations, or executive summaries that would otherwise require hours of manual effort. “It’s not about the technology itself but how it can help us impact the world positively,” she said. One standout example Amy shared was the use of generative AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude for drafting content. These tools not only accelerate content creation but also provide tailored insights to refine messaging for specific audiences, such as funders or volunteers. Amy emphasized that AI allows organizations to “turn insights into impact” by removing barriers to efficiency and creativity. She also addressed common fears surrounding AI adoption. “Some people have a moral objection to AI,” Amy acknowledged. However, she shared success stories of skeptics who, after learning how accessible and effective AI tools are, became champions of their use within their organizations. Amy’s enthusiasm for technology’s potential to drive social good was infectious. Her insights challenge nonprofits to embrace AI as a tool for amplifying their mission. Her organization, Resourceful Nonprofit, is pioneering this approach by helping nonprofits integrate AI into their workflows to foster inclusivity and efficiency. Nonprofits looking to amplify their impact should heed Amy’s advice: Start small, experiment with accessible tools, and focus on how AI can support—not replace—the human element of mission-driven work. tl;dr: * Amy Neumann highlights AI’s potential to help nonprofits synthesize data and amplify their missions. * She explains how generative AI tools simplify tasks like reporting, content creation, and impact measurement. * Amy shares her superpower of translating complex technologies into actionable social impact initiatives. * A compelling example shows how AI accelerates learning, saving time for mission-driven work. * Practical tips encourage nonprofits to embrace AI for efficiency and creativity without requiring technical expertise. How to Develop Translating Technology into Action As a Superpower Amy’s superpower is her ability to translate complex technologies, like AI, into actionable insights for creating meaningful social impact. “I got obsessed early on with figuring out how technology could change the world,” Amy said. She leverages this skill to inspire others to adopt and implement technology for their missions. Amy shared how she uses AI to accelerate her own learning and productivity. For example, she uses generative AI to quickly gather and synthesize credible resources, enabling her to stay ahead in her studies and work. This efficiency has not only transformed her learning process but also demonstrates how nonprofits can use AI to better serve their missions by saving time and effort. Tips for Developing This Superpower: * Start with curiosity: Explore how new tools can help solve everyday challenges. * Practice co-creating with AI by combining its insights with your creativity. * Use generative AI tools for tasks like research, content creation, or problem-solving. * Start small: Experiment with user-friendly tools like ChatGPT or Poe for specific tasks. * Embrace a growth mindset: Recognize that no one is born with expertise—practice and learning are key. Conclusion: By following Amy Neumann’s example and advice, you can make “translating technology into action” a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world. Adapting to Rapid Change: Insights from Ben Lytle’s Wisdom

Ben: From the time I was a little kid, [my parents] would tell me, you're a smart kid. You work hard. You can do anything. You can do anything. So I grew up with that. The world is undergoing unprecedented change. This isn’t hyperbole—it’s a reality we’re all navigating. Author and entrepreneur Ben Lytle, in his compelling book series The Potentialist, offers practical wisdom for embracing this new era. In today’s episode of Superpowers for Good, Ben shared profound insights about adapting to rapid transformation and achieving human potential. Ben explains that this period marks the fastest and most profound change in human history. Drawing parallels to previous transformative eras like the Renaissance and industrial revolutions, he notes, “Our job is to adapt. That means don’t fear it. Don’t run from it. Embrace it.” His optimism about the future—an “age of expanding human potential”—is inspiring. The key, Ben argues, is wisdom—a blend of classical philosophy and modern psychology. He has crafted a guide to make wisdom accessible to everyone. “Wisdom has been taught for thousands of years but hasn’t been put into a layman’s manual. That’s what I tried to do,” he said. His approach starts with learning faster. In a rapidly evolving world, education is no longer about memorizing knowledge; instead, it’s about applying what we learn wisely. Ben highlights the importance of natural laws, such as cause and effect and the law of polarity, which help us make better decisions by balancing opposing viewpoints. “When tension between polarities is held equally, it creates energy and leads to solutions,” he explained. Beyond the books, Ben’s website, PotentialistFuture.com, offers resources, videos, and insights to help individuals develop their decision-making abilities. His passion for guiding others to adapt and thrive is evident throughout his work. As we navigate these extraordinary times, Ben’s message resonates: Embrace the change, seek wisdom, and unlock your potential. By doing so, we can shape a better future. tl;dr: * Ben Lytle explores the rapid and unprecedented changes reshaping the future and how we must adapt. * Wisdom, blending philosophy and psychology, is essential for navigating complex decisions in today’s world. * Natural laws, such as cause and effect, offer timeless lessons for better decision-making and growth. * Ben’s resources, including books and videos, guide individuals toward personal and professional development. * Unlocking human potential through self-discovery and authenticity is Ben’s superpower and life mission. How to Develop Unlocking Human Potential As a Superpower Ben Lytle’s superpower is unlocking human potential by encouraging self-discovery and fostering personal growth. He describes this process as a lifelong journey of understanding one’s true self and striving to live authentically. “Your job is to discover you inside, discover your truth, and live that truth,” he shared, citing an elective college course as a turning point in his life. One powerful anecdote highlights this superpower. At 21, Ben became a manager in the early days of IT. Despite his youth and inexperience, he focused on helping his team discover their strengths. “The job of a manager and leader is to help people discover the best in themselves,” he reflected. This approach fostered high performance and cemented his belief in the power of human potential. To develop this superpower, Ben suggests: * Recognize the ego’s influence but avoid letting it dominate. * Explore what brings you joy, not external markers of success. * Continuously practice self-awareness and refine your ability to listen to your inner self. By following Ben’s example and advice, you can make unlocking human potential a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world. Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses. You do you! Guest Profile Ben Lytle (he/him): Author, Author, The Pursuit of Wisdom About The Pursuit of Wisdom: Ben Lytle’s Potentialist Series is a wake-up alarm for an emerging New Reality rapidly altering life as we know it. Times of great change require individuals to adapt, as in the Renaissance, Enlightenment, and three prior industrial revolutions. The New Reality’s global impact, institutional disruptions, and sweeping redefinition of work, life, learning, and human potential require a faster, more significant adaptive response by each of us. The old ways won’t cut it anymore. In his first book, The Potentialist: Your Life in the New Reality of the Next Thirty Years, published in 2022, Ben explains how five change forces are creating a New Reality and recommends seven adaptive preparations. The Potentialist: The Pursuit of Wisdom, the latest in his series, is a guide to wiser decisions by expanding the capacity for wisdom and operating at one’s potential, the ultimate adaptation. Decisions largely determine the quality and measure of a life. Everyone will need to make frequent, unprecedented, complex, life-altering decisions never before faced and take actions never imagined. He is a healthcare policy expert who chaired or served on state and presidential healthcare commissions and a governance leader with extensive public company experience. Building the Future: Jim Kumon’s Sustainable Housing Vision in Minneapolis

Jim: Well, it is, as I've been told, taking a lot of information from technical, complex areas and figuring out how to merge it together. Sustainability and energy efficiency are at the forefront of Jim Kumon’s latest project in Minneapolis. This innovative development combines passive house technology with thoughtful design to reduce energy consumption dramatically while maintaining comfort and functionality. With two duplex units meeting passive house standards and a third unit adhering to Zero Energy Ready Home guidelines, Jim’s approach represents a significant step forward in environmentally conscious housing. “Passive house is about thermal control, air control, and radiation control,” Jim explained. These principles translate into features like triple-pane windows, superior insulation, and advanced air circulation systems, ensuring both comfort and energy savings. The results are impressive: a 73% improvement in energy efficiency over current building codes, with even greater advantages compared to older homes. Jim emphasized the broader impact of these improvements. “Reducing operational energy is a big thing,” he said, highlighting the project’s potential to lower carbon emissions and enhance residents’ health through cleaner building materials. This focus on sustainability extends to the choice of non-toxic materials, aiming to create a healthier indoor environment. Beyond its technical merits, the project offers practical benefits for future residents. Lower utility costs and modern amenities make the property attractive to renters and potential owner-occupants. Its family-friendly design and desirable location further enhance its appeal. The project also provides an opportunity for community members to participate directly through regulated investment crowdfunding. “We’re raising capital on Small Change,” Jim shared, inviting impact-driven investors to join the effort. Interested individuals can learn more at s4g.biz/air. This initiative exemplifies how thoughtful design and community-driven funding can address environmental challenges while delivering tangible benefits to people and neighborhoods. tl;dr: * Today’s episode highlights a passive house project that reduces energy use by over 70%. * Jim Kumon discusses designing family-friendly, sustainable housing in Minneapolis. * The project integrates advanced technology and health-conscious materials for a better living environment. * Jim shares how collaboration is key to addressing complex development challenges. * Investors can support this initiative via regulated crowdfunding on Small Change. How to Develop Integrative Problem Solving As a Superpower Jim describes his superpower as “taking a lot of information from technical, complex areas and figuring out how to merge it together.” His background in architecture, construction, housing policy, and economic development enables him to address challenges holistically. “The question really is, how do we get to yes?” he noted, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and creative problem-solving to achieve shared goals. Jim recounted an instance where technical and financial hurdles threatened a project. By focusing on collaboration, he brought stakeholders together to leverage their strengths and address weaknesses. “At the end of the day, it was about people thinking collaboratively,” he shared, demonstrating how collective efforts can overcome obstacles and create impactful solutions. Tips for developing this superpower: * Build Multidisciplinary Knowledge: Learn about diverse fields to see connections others might miss. * Foster Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders to combine strengths and address challenges holistically. * Focus on Common Goals: Identify shared values to build consensus and drive collective action. * Stay Resilient and Adaptive: Persist through bureaucratic or systemic hurdles by creatively addressing barriers. Conclusion: By following Jim’s example and advice, you can make integrative problem-solving a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world. Sharon: One of my staff members said, Sharon, you're the only person who talked about how much joy it brings you to really elevate people and have a team. I hadn't figured it out before, but I think that is my superpower. Asthma and chronic respiratory diseases impact millions globally, limiting lives in profound ways. But Health Care Originals, led by CEO and co-founder Sharon Samjitsingh, is changing the game with a groundbreaking AI-powered wearable device named "Adam." This discreet device listens to lung sounds, predicting and preventing respiratory crises before they happen. Sharon’s personal journey with asthma inspired her mission. She recalls, “I almost died five times, went to the ER, or rushed to my doctor’s home in the middle of the night. Even though I took my meds, everything was not OK.” Adam combines advanced AI with human touch, offering not just alerts but actionable guidance. “With our Nightingale system, we provide apps, respiratory therapists, and wellness coaches to empower users,” Sharon explains. This holistic approach has yielded remarkable outcomes. Within a year, two-thirds of users report zero attacks, and nearly all experience better symptom management and sleep quality. Health Care Originals is more than a tech innovator; it’s a force for change. The company is scaling its Nightingale service, backed by 14 issued patents and a waitlist of 12,000 eager participants. With contracts poised to generate $5.5 million in annual recurring revenue, the firm is expanding its reach across the U.S. Currently raising capital on Wefunder, Sharon invites you to join the journey: “We want everybody to join us on our journey. Be part of helping people live well and breathe easier.” By leveraging innovation and compassion, Sharon is empowering individuals and families to reclaim their lives. This episode underscores how the fusion of technology and empathy can drive meaningful impact. tl;dr: * Sharon Samjitsingh’s personal asthma journey inspired her mission to empower respiratory patients. * Health Care Originals developed Adam, an AI-powered wearable to predict respiratory crises. * The Nightingale system includes apps, therapists, and coaches, yielding impressive outcomes. * Sharon’s superpower is elevating others by recognizing potential and providing opportunities. * Health Care Originals is raising funds on Wefunder to expand its life-changing solutions. How to Develop Elevating People As a Superpower Sharon’s superpower is her ability to elevate others—whether employees, patients, or collaborators. She combines technical expertise with a profound commitment to helping people succeed, both personally and professionally. Sharon once led a team of 100 shop-floor workers, many with limited education, across 14 manufacturing sites. By training them in root cause analysis and empowering them to present solutions, Sharon helped them save over $1 million in a year. Her efforts boosted their confidence and career trajectories, proving her passion for elevating others. Sharon’s tips to develop this superpower: * Recognize Potential: See the strengths in people often overlooked by others. * Empower Through Training: Offer education and opportunities tailored to individual needs. * Support Self-Advocacy: Encourage people to voice their ideas and take ownership of solutions. * Celebrate Success: Acknowledge achievements to build confidence and motivation. By following Sharon’s example and advice, you can make elevating people a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world. Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses. You do you! Empowering Businesses with Precise Carbon Accounting for a Sustainable Future

Abdullah: Anyone who ever asks me a question about what's my best ability or superpower, I can only think of one thing: something that's helped me throughout my life since I was a young teenager growing up in Pakistan. It's helped me throughout my life. It's being persistent. Reducing carbon footprints is more than a buzzword; it’s a critical step toward sustainability. Today’s episode featured Abdullah Choudhry, Co-Founder and Chief Impact Officer of Arbor, who shared how their groundbreaking technology is reshaping carbon accounting. Abdullah explained that traditional spend-based methods for calculating carbon footprints are often inaccurate, leading to misleading conclusions. Arbor’s innovative approach dives deep into the value chain, enabling businesses to measure carbon footprints with unprecedented precision. “Every business is just all about its products and services,” Abdullah said. “Being super accurate at a value chain level is how we’re going to change society and the economy as a whole towards a lower carbon footprint.” Arbor’s technology is already empowering companies, large and small, to design sustainable products from the ground up. Its self-service platform is a game changer, making advanced tools accessible to small businesses. Abdullah emphasized the importance of democratizing sustainability efforts: “We just want you to start on this journey with us, and we are willing to meet you wherever you are.” This episode highlighted Arbor’s potential to drive transformative change, connecting sustainability practices with actionable data. For businesses looking to align with eco-conscious values, Arbor offers an affordable, practical solution. In fact, to help me test the Arbor system, Abdullah’s colleague Omer Amar helped me analyze the insect protein-based dog food from Jiminy’s. The founder of the company, Anne Carlson, will be a guest on my show in a few weeks. In preparation, we ran Jiminy’s dog food through the Arbor system to confirm that the product has a significantly lower carbon footprint than a traditional, competing product. tl;dr: * Abdullah Choudhry shared Arbor’s cutting-edge tools for precise carbon accounting across product value chains. * The discussion highlighted Arbor’s mission to democratize sustainability tools for small and large businesses. * Abdullah’s personal journey illustrated the transformative power of persistence and creative problem-solving. * Practical advice was shared on how to calculate carbon footprints using Arbor’s self-service platform. * Abdullah encouraged listeners to adopt data-driven decisions for a sustainable future, emphasizing shared responsibility. How to Develop Persistence As a Superpower Abdullah attributes his success to persistence. By staying determined, even when resources were limited, he tackled challenges head-on, achieving goals others might have abandoned. As a Pakistani student in the U.S., Abdullah faced steep tuition costs. Unable to cover $35,000 annually through jobs alone, he creatively combined science, engineering, and entrepreneurial skills. By helping a friend sell furniture in New York, Abdullah met his financial needs, demonstrating persistence paired with ingenuity. Tips for Developing Persistence: * Use first principles thinking to clarify your goals and decisions. * Learn from failure; treat it as a stepping stone for growth. * Stay open to new information and adapt when logic or evidence suggests a better path. By following Abdullah’s example and advice, you can make persistence a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world. Creativity Fuels Ravi DeRossi's Vegan Hospitality Revolution

Ravi: I don't know if you call it a superpower, but I think one of the things that has led me and my company to become so successful is creativity. Ravi DeRossi, founder and CEO of Overthrow Hospitality, has mastered the art of transforming culinary experiences while championing sustainability and ethics. Despite a background steeped in art and design rather than hospitality, Ravi’s journey into plant-based dining began with a singular goal: crafting extraordinary food that satisfies every palate—vegan or otherwise. When he opened Avant Garden a decade ago, Ravi partnered with an emerging chef to develop a menu that delivered the same rich, satisfying experience as meat-based dishes. “You want the same satiation… and the heat and salt,” Ravi explained. The gamble paid off, drawing critical acclaim from mainstream reviewers and diners alike. For Ravi, the triumph of Avant Garden marked the beginning of a larger mission to bring exceptional vegan dining to the forefront. Today, Overthrow Hospitality operates 10 unique restaurants—nine in New York’s East Village and one in Los Angeles. The business is poised for expansion, fueled by Ravi’s vision and community-driven support. Through a regulated crowdfunding campaign on StartEngine, Ravi is inviting customers to invest in a movement that aligns dining with climate action and animal welfare. “You can invest a minimal amount and join a community serving millions of vegan meals,” Ravi said, emphasizing the collective power of small actions. Ravi’s approach underscores a fundamental belief: the choices we make, from the fork to the wallet, can redefine industries and address global challenges. As Overthrow Hospitality prepares to extend its impact beyond Manhattan, Ravi’s blend of creativity, ethics, and entrepreneurial drive continues to inspire. tl;dr: * Ravi DeRossi built Overthrow Hospitality to redefine vegan dining with creative, satisfying cuisine. * Avant Garden’s success proved exceptional plant-based food appeals to both vegans and non-vegans. * Ravi’s StartEngine crowdfunding campaign empowers communities to support sustainable dining solutions. * Creativity drives Ravi’s journey, from artist to restaurateur, transforming ethics into impactful action. * Turning Overthrow Hospitality fully vegan was a bold move rooted in Ravi’s personal awakening. How to Develop Creativity As a Superpower Ravi DeRossi’s superpower is creativity—an innate ability to envision and execute unique ideas. This trait has guided his transition from artist to restaurateur, driving the success of Overthrow Hospitality’s innovative concepts and plant-based mission. One powerful illustration of Ravi’s creativity is the transformation of his hospitality empire to align fully with his ethics. After a personal awakening sparked by his rescue animals and a desire for alignment with his values, Ravi turned all his restaurants vegan. This ambitious overhaul took two years and reflected a profound commitment to both sustainability and animal welfare. For those aspiring to cultivate creativity, Ravi’s story offers actionable insights: * Explore Diverse Interests: Ravi’s background in theater, fine arts, and writing enriched his ability to think outside the box. * Follow Your Passions: Pursuing what excites you can ignite innovative ideas. * Take Bold Risks: Ravi’s decision to revamp his business was courageous and rooted in strong beliefs. * Solve Problems Creatively: Apply unique perspectives to challenges, as Ravi did when designing his restaurants. * Align Actions with Values: Integrating personal principles into your work fosters authenticity and inspiration. By following Ravi’s example and advice, you can make creativity a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world. Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses. You do you! Ovum Health’s Mission to Revolutionize Fertility and Maternal Health Care

Alice: Something that led me here that's a superpower is seeing opportunity where others don't. I think I have this; my magic is, what I always say is, seeing white space. Maternal health in the United States is in crisis. Alice Crisci, Co-Founder and CEO of Ovum Health, is addressing this urgent challenge by merging her personal journey with cutting-edge technology to transform the reproductive health landscape. Diagnosed with cancer at a young age and enduring nine pregnancy losses, Alice’s resilience fueled her mission: ensuring that anyone who dreams of having a healthy family can do so without financial or medical barriers. “We are diagnosing on average four conditions that weren’t previously diagnosed and restoring health,” Alice explained during today’s episode. “If you can imagine the joy people feel when they suddenly have hope again… that they’re going to become a mom.” Ovum Health employs precision diagnostics—using genetic testing, virology, toxicology, and advanced analytics—to uncover root causes of infertility and maternal health challenges. Their holistic care approach combines personalized medical interventions with lifestyle modifications, leveraging a proprietary app to guide patients incrementally toward better health. Alice’s vision extends beyond reproductive health. The company’s methods address broader chronic conditions, offering solutions for men and women across life stages, including menopause and perimenopause. “Sixty percent of all Americans now have chronic illness. That has to reverse,” she emphasized, highlighting the potential to improve lives far beyond maternal health. Ovum Health is currently raising capital through a Regulation Crowdfunding campaign on Start Engine. As Alice noted, “Reg CF gives the same people who might become a patient… the opportunity to own stock in the company.” You can support Ovum Health’s mission and invest by visiting s4g.biz/ovum. Alice’s inspiring story and Ovum Health’s groundbreaking work remind us of the profound impact of innovation driven by empathy and purpose. tl;dr: * Alice Crisci shares her journey from personal challenges to launching Ovum Health, transforming maternal care. * Ovum Health uses cutting-edge diagnostics and holistic care to address infertility and chronic health issues. * Alice emphasizes the importance of perseverance and identifying opportunity as key entrepreneurial superpowers. * Today's episode highlights Ovum Health’s accessible solutions and its Start Engine crowdfunding campaign. * Alice inspires with actionable tips for recognizing patterns and solving problems at their root. How to Develop Seeing Opportunity As a Superpower Alice’s superpower is her ability to see opportunities where others see challenges. With a unique talent for recognizing patterns and identifying untapped potential, she excels at connecting the dots to drive innovation and progress, both for her ventures and the people she supports. Alice exemplified this superpower when analyzing anonymized user data from Ovum Health’s Fertility Answers app. She uncovered patterns that challenged the prevailing narrative about infertility, which often blames women for delaying childbirth. Her insights led her to develop new diagnostic tools and solutions tailored to people’s unique circumstances, enabling access to better healthcare regardless of geographic location. Tips for Developing This Superpower: * Embrace data: Analyze patterns in the information available to you. Look for trends or inconsistencies that challenge conventional wisdom. * Focus on root causes: Avoid addressing symptoms alone. Use a cause-and-effect framework to define the actual problems you’re trying to solve. * Foster ideation: Practice brainstorming with a focus on connecting unrelated ideas to create innovative solutions. * Encourage collaboration: Involve others in identifying causes and effects to expand your perspective and refine problem-solving approaches. * Act on insights: Move beyond identifying opportunities—take decisive action to bring them to life. Closing Paragraph:By following Alice’s example and advice, you can make seeing opportunity a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world. Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses. You do you!
