Myles O'Meally - Founder of Areté

PRINCE-S DES VILLES

Myles O’Meally is the founder of Areté, a studio providing footwear design, engineering and development to a wide range of international companies.

An ex semi-pro tennis player, his interest for footwear began flourishing as a curious child eager to learn how things were made. Eventually, this led him to choose industrial design as a major in university and subsequently he landed a position with Nike.

After years in the corporate machine, Myles took a leap of faith and moved to Amsterdam to start his own business with the support of his entrepreneur friends – whom he fondly shouts out during our conversation.

His candid approach to business, experimental way of thinking and extensive on the ground experience are what have granted him contracts with brands like Raf Simons and A Cold Wall* . But it doesn’t stop there; Areté is here to revolutionize the business of footwear.
