    A New Story

    A New Story

In this episode we begin to unravel what drives the economy, and the narratives that underpin how the economy operates in the world and in us. We consider who the gatekeepers of the current economic system are and what the organising principle of money is … and what it could be.

What are the myths that drive our current economic system?
What shadows within us all fuel the overconsumption of this planet?
What new narratives do we need to help us create a new economic system?
As we begin to analyse the economy as if it were a person, we look at what narratives are driving the economy and how these narratives live within us all. We discuss who the gatekeepers of the economy are and whether they are those who hold the financial wealth, or whether in fact, the gatekeepers are inside all of us.
Berry also shares her own personal story to explain why the urgency to help create a new economic system is so alive in her.

    How Crisis Creates Change

    How Crisis Creates Change

As Australia faces its worst bushfire catastrophe in history and smoke blankets the cities and country towns, we discuss what the role of crisis can be in economic and social change. And whether it is possible to dream and create a new vision in the midst of crisis.
Is it possible to find a space for vision when our bodies feel physically and psychologically threatened?
Or can a crisis force us to reconsider how we live?
Is this what wakes us up to the reality of our destructive systems?
We need a safe platform to envision a future, but sometimes it takes a real crisis to force us to innovate, because when we’re comfortable, we see no need to change the status quo. The innovation we need right now will not come from ego or cognitive thinking, it will come from the unconscious and from a changing of the human heart. Perhaps, both love and grief can shift our system of values.

    A Revolution of Values

    A Revolution of Values

After months and months, the fires in Australia have finally been put out, only to be followed by rains and floods. As groups gather to consider what the climate crisis means for our planet and society, we talk about collective transformation, individual responsibility and a global revolution of values.

”If you are completely destroyed by the world, then the world which destroyed you must be completely transformed, because you looked upon it with the eye that transforms, the eye that contains the germ of what is new.” – C. G. Jung
Is it possible to have a mature acceptance of our reality and still maintain space for creating a new future?
Should we be focussing our energy on our inner healing or on the greater healing of the world?
What images are needed to shift collective priorities towards a new system that will allow life to flourish?
We need to begin to understand the field of influence which we are responsible for tending, whether that is our own internal or local work, or something on a larger scale. And if we do seek to lead a community, we must do it from a place of love, joy and generosity, with no agenda for personal gain. We hold the truth of what is nourishing and regenerative within us, but we need to reconnect with that knowing again.

    Pathogens In The Economy

    Pathogens In The Economy

What vulnerabilities in our modern systems are being exposed by the global pandemic and how might we use this event to return to truths and become more resilient – and create a more resilient system and society on the other side.
What happens when the economy is ground to a halt?
Can we think beyond the fear to use this as an opportunity for reorganising?
What is the individual and collective opportunity to be found in the global pandemic?
As the global community becomes increasingly fearful of not only the virus, but also of the collapse of the global economic system, is it time to recognise that the system was never serving us in the first place? Our measure of success in the current economic system is way off course and now we have the opportunity to re-assess that, because perhaps what we should actually be measuring is wellbeing.

    Re-emerging with new prosperity

    Re-emerging with new prosperity

As we re-emerge from lockdown and stare down the tunnel of an economic recovery funded by fossil fuels, how do we use the learnings of this time to recreate the world?

    EPISODE NOTES:
Have we shifted enough as a collective to create a new path forward which will safeguard our future on this planet? What do we do with the learnings and experiences of this time?
In this episode we grapple with the fear and anxiety that while we may have changed as individuals, perhaps the world hasn’t changed with us. Together we discuss sitting in the emergence and listening for the answers without ego. We realise that perhaps the key is to find a bridge of shared values that can create the baseline for a new system and new world — can we imagine new paths to prosperity together?

    The Prosperity of Usefulness

    The Prosperity of Usefulness

The Dalai Lama says that a meaningful life is to be happy and useful. Can we start to consider prosperity as finding aliveness in being happy and useful?

    EPISODE NOTES:
Isolation, lockdown and shelter at home orders have forced us to go inwards and consider what we really value in this life and in this world. We have glimpsed what the world needs right now. Not only are new ideas for being emerging, but so are the hidden truths and inequalities of our global community and economy.

In this episode we consider how we can turn these glimpses of a emerging new world into systems and processes that turn these glimpses into reality. We consider how thinkers like Steiner took deep thinking and emergent ideas and then engineered them into long lasting institutions. What can we learn from those like Steiner to create new realities right now?

So engaging

I hate thinking about money and capitalism and all this stuff. So though I wanted to listen, and I wanted to want to listen to this podcast, it took me a loooong time to get around to it. But I was wrong to put it off. This is such a wonderful and much needed conversation happening in this space about the very soul of exchange, and how it is a part of each person’s shadow work while on this planet. I love this podcast.

The value of paying attention

This podcast rings so true with me. Thank you for speaking of sitting with the discomfort and pain of what we are each experiencing as individuals and as members of community.
