Navigating mental health - with Parenting Mental Health's Suzanne Alderson

Brummie Mummies

This week’s guest, Suzanne Alderson, has lived through every parent’s worst nightmare. After sustained bullying at school, Suzanne’s daughter Issy revealed that she was planning to take her own life. She was just 14.

In one of her darkest moments, she decided she never wanted another parent to feel as alone as she did. The Solihull mum set up the charity Parenting Mental Health, enabling families to share their questions and experiences in a safe space.

Suzanne chats to Zoe and tells her all about the charity that has now helped more than 37,000 families. She also shares the signs parents should look out for and how to help, not only a child, but the whole family through a mental health crisis.
