You said something in one of the pods about how JJ silence is actually sort of funny considering he was on every airway and all over socials prior to getting the gig I’ve found myself all summer hoping to get SOMETHING from JJ but now as we near the end of the offseason and training camp starts soon …I’ve actually embraced that JJ has been M.I.A all summer. It makes me think back to that commercial he has where he’s being this mad scientist evil genius. I’m hoping that’s what he’s like doing actually (after some downtime with the family of course). Obviously they have Greg St Jean out there with Luka but to what degree do you think Greg and JJ are discussing some successful sets , plays , actions that Slovenia used with Luka to bring back to the Lakers ?

Viva Exceptionalism

Anthony—Would you extend Rui to have a tradable contract in the $20M range next year or the following? Also, the “Jeannie as governor” thing is way overblown. The governor’s job is to represent the team on the NBA’s Board of Governors. It’s like being the Lakers’ Chairman of the Board. Walter can hire the equivalent of a CEO who actually runs the team. The two are not inconsistent. Love your work as always.

Late July questions. The NFLPA started doing team report cards a couple of years ago grading teams on various categories from facilities, to training staff, and even ownership. If the NBA did this where do you think the Lakers would rank compared to the rest of the league? What would be their best and worst graded categories? Also, unhinged trade. Kawhi for LeBron straight up. Clippers complete their all geriatric team and the Lakers actually get Kawhi this time. Which fan base is more angry?
