Welcome to the podcast network home for "Last Word on Sports Media." This feed includes episodes of the "Last Word on Sports Media Podcast" with host T.J. Rives and his guests. TJ will tackle the most interesting topics in U.S. Sports Media, including: what everyone is (or isn't) watching in the ratings, the latest news and insight on everything from ESPN, to the over the air networks like: NBC, CBS, FOX and ABC. For most of my life, I have always had a curiosity on how sports shaped the media, and how the media took to sports. Whether you are talking local, national, cable, or broadcast, even international—it’s important to know the why behind every game, every story. Even with the slow shift towards streaming, will the appeal of sports embrace the digital outlets, or will it become more of a niche set of programs catered to the diehard fans. That’s why I have enjoyed listening to this series of podcasts and the stories of the people who make it happen.
Great resource for up and coming announcers

If you are trying to break into a career as an announcer, this podcast is an invaluable resource. Each episode maps out career paths of established announcers while also illustrating a “day in a life” as an announcer.

Good info on Sports Media

TJ and Paulson are a wealth of knowledge and history on sports, sorts ratings and general pop culture. Paulson’s dry delivery is kind of refreshing since it’s authentic. TJ is a smart, experienced dude but too self defeating (I’m not good enough) in his interaction with Paulson. His takes are smart and insightful. Would give this podcast 5 stars, but the apologetic nature of TJ’s interaction with Paulson gets a tired.
