Dying Words - Into Your Hands

Romans 5:8 God demonstrates his own love to us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Luke 23:44 Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two. 46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last.

The final works of Jesus from the cross were to declare trust and to offer surrender.

Taking things into our own hands, doesn't seize our destiny, It actually sabotages it.

Our life in our hands is out of control.

2 Corinthians 1:9 We had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God.

#1 Jesus Trusts God’s Heart

He Trusts God Because He Knows God.

Psalm 31:5 Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.

Luke 23:46 “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ”

You’re going to have a hard time trusting God with your life if you don’t know Him.

Jesus didn’t die on the cross so that he could be your religion. He died on the cross so He could have a relationship with you.

Psalm 31:4 Keep me free from the trap that is set for me, for you are my refuge.

#2 Jesus Trusts God’s Hands

Luke 23:46 “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ”

Jesus trusts that the hands of God will catch Him… 
so He surrenders His life.

Paratithēmi - to surrender, it means to willingly hand over, to deposit something valuable in a safe place. 

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God;

God is a great catcher
