Early Season Bowhunting Strategy & Success

Early Season Bowhunting Strategy & Success

On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan chats with Josh Honeycutt to talk about his recent early season bowhunting success. Josh, an experienced hunter and outdoor writer who continues to find success every season, breaks down the strategy he used to locate and understand this bucks pattern. Thermals, wind directions, and how the terrain effected those variables, plays a huge role in how Josh got within shooting range of this big Kentucky buck. Josh actually slept in the stand one night in order to keep from spooking the buck who was heading towards his truck. Another amazing story! Enjoy!

Opening Weekend Discussion with Lucas Cayko

Opening Weekend Discussion with Lucas Cayko

On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan is once joined with long time friend Lucas Cayko to discuss North Dakota's archery opening weekend. The guys kick off the episode with a really good BS session where they cover a variety of questions like "What is hunting?", making sure you are up-to-date on all of your rules and regulations, and responding to "hunting is easy" comments.
Every year Lucas and a handful of friends get together to hunt North Dakotas archery opener. This year he already had a couple big bucks already located, but with several other hunters scouting and running trail cameras in the woods the weeks before the season started, the pressure took its toll. But, Lucas and another buddy put in the work and relocated one of the bucks. They both went in to the area where they believed the buck was living, Lucas went one wa, his buddy went the other, and buck showed up... at his friends location. Another really good episode with a true student of the game. Enjoy!

The last podcast

When referring to the question about the 1,000 acre property and surveilling the deer and feeding them all year long. To me it sounds more like farming the deer and than selectively harvesting the animal you want just like they would do on a cattle farm.
