Nintendo Sues Streamer for Leaked Games

Hot Off - Gaming

Nintendo is suing a streamer, known online as EveryGameGuru and whose real name is Jesse Keighin, for repeatedly streaming pirated and emulated Nintendo Switch games, including some that were streamed before their official release. The streamer allegedly continued his activities despite Nintendo's efforts to stop him, such as sending cease and desist letters and filing takedown requests. Whenever one of his channels was shut down, he would open new ones on various platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, Kick, and other lesser-known streaming sites. He also directed his audience to popular Switch emulators and other piracy tools, and at times taunted Nintendo directly. Nintendo is seeking significant damages, with $150,000 per infringement, which could total $7.5 million if 50 counts are successful.
