0:58Sure. So I started in the pharmaceutical industry as kind of a manufacturing scientist. And then I ended up becoming an engineer within the pharmaceutical industry. And now I am a in a software company.

1:16Uh huh. And what is what is your background when it comes to like, what is the manufacturing scientist?

1:23Sure. So I it's been a wild ride I started is like a traditionally trained chemist. And my first job out of college was working for a company that built industrial equipment to support the pharmaceutical industry. So they needed someone that understood the processing side. And like my first day, what I was putting up drywall for a laboratory in the morning, and then in the afternoon, I was actually writing like, validation protocols. So it was really just this trial by fire. I did that for a few years, kind of moved around a couple different positions. And in that role, it was kind of funny, most of our customers were in the pharmaceutical industry. So you had to understand what they were doing. You had to understand good manufacturing practices and all these rules. But I never worked in it. So I didn't really understand. And every year like my performance reviews, they would say, Well, you know, you're doing great, but you don't understand the pharma industry. And after like two, three years of getting that same comments over and over, it's like, Well, okay,

0:45Hey, Elyse Robinson with nobody wants to work though podcast and today we have Sarah Sarah, what was your first career? And what did you transition to?

0:56Wow. So my first career I was a bank teller at a credit union. That was many, many moons ago, like might say years. And today, I am a user experience researcher in tech. And pretty much at a lead or principal level. So I had a lot of career transitions in my journey. And in my path. I, the first job I had, as I mentioned, I was 18 years old, at that time had no idea what I wanted to do or what I wanted to be, I just think I landed into that position because I was good at math in school. And just thought that this would be a field or a job that I could that I could do. I think I worked that job for a for a few years actually. And I've actually well, or with that company for a few years. And then I moved into their loan application processing department.

But I set up a consultancy, which is helping companies in the area of strategy and innovation and transfer digital transformation, taking all the tools I've learned over the years.

2:25here's a fun question. What did you want to be when you you know, God became an adult? That's a very good question I will impart I'm still grappling with that to see what I want to become. When I'm an adult. I really to be honest, I really didn't know it was more. I knew I needed to go to school, I knew like frankly, what a university education and went well, I didn't want to be oddly enough didn't want to be in health, which is course where I am.

2:54Didn't want to be a doctor and just all these pieces. So sort of by default this it okay,

0:45Hey, y'all, this Elyse Robinson again with nobody wants to work tho. today. I have Mia and she's gonna tell us about her interesting career switch and introduce yourself Nia

0:58Hailes. Thanks for having me on. So my name is Mia Zambrano. I am a licensed mental health therapist and a mental performance expert. So I started my journey, I guess in my initial field, I've always been a therapist. So my, my switch into different careers has kind of looked like wandering within many different sectors of being a therapist. So when I first started out, especially coming out, during and coming out of my graduate program, I was doing something called in home family therapy. And for those of you that may or may not be familiar with the field, there's actually a, like I said, a lot of different sectors you can go into, you can go into hospital settings, as a social worker or therapist, you can go into residential settings, program settings, outpatient settings, where you're seeing someone in office and school based. And one of those happens to be in home where you're literally going into people's homes, and providing therapy for the family for an individual for a child. So I did my graduate program at Boston University. And I remember when my field intern chip construct instructor pulled me in, she kind of looked at me and said, Would you be open to doing this meeting in home therapy. And I said, you know, why not? Like I didn't know any better. I was young. And I just wanted to get in the field so badly. I knew that was something I wanted to do at that point in my life really young. And it was just such an interesting experience. It was kind of enchanting. At first, it was really interesting getting to see people in their home environment. But you, you know, like a lot of jobs, you are grossly underpaid. And you are being more than super thin.
