I don’t even have Apple Podcasts but I got it just to give these guys a 5 star review! This show is really brilliant and fun. If you love music: subscribe! If you hate music: subscribe and then jump off a building because your life has no joy. And if you give these guys a killer-brutal-subversive topic, they will make it the subject of their episode and then pit 2 KidsBop songs against one another for your sadistic entertainment! That last part isn’t true I’m just still upset with them because I used to be their boss and they defied me at every turn. Great local tunes! Great conversational banter! Great guys! Check ‘em out!

What happens when you put two talented podcasters together from opposide sides of the continent? You get North By South Podcast. Great open and honest discussion on music with a fun and inteligent delivery! Well done!

Imagine sitting around with a couple of friends, probably with cold beers in hand, jabbering about music and espousing strongly held opinions without really being a musician or know what you’re talking about. To me, that’s actually a really good time. That’s what this podcast is all about. Add in a little friendly rivalry and making fun of another guy’s homeland (USA and Canada) and you get the picture. These guys are fun, friendly and engaging. You won’t always agree with them, but most of the time you will. And if you really don’t like their opinion, but don’t have the facts or musical authority to explain why, you can always just make fun of their country, skip ahead 30 seconds, and proclaim yourself the winner of the argument.

If you love deep dives, great music and knowledgeable hosts with a light touch, this is podcast is a delight. That North by South uses a U.S.-versus-Canada lens to examine genre gives the show a rich musical landscape to mine - and, on a personal note, could not be better aligned to my own personal interests if it were grown in a lab. I’m excited for the next episode!
