Welcome to Not Actually Film Critics where not actual film critics critique actual films. Each week, join us as we talk about random stuff, watch movies together and review them. For every episode, we take turns picking movies that fit within a theme, which often leads us to some real hidden gems, or fun oldies that give us a blast from the past! Sometimes we will even release a sync-track of us watching the movie together, so you can sync it up to your viewing of the movie and feel like you're one of us! Follow along with our journey, and you might just discover a favorite film you've never seen before!
Also, if you have a great movie pick for one of our themes, or just want to reach out to us, feel free to email us at nafilmcritics@gmail.com

The gang also reviews the first episode of The Last of Us, Velma, and gives thoughts to the casting of a live-action God of War. Izzy shares a story of being a Southeast Asian ambassador for white people before the gang gets into Terry Gilliam's 1981 adventure film Time Bandits and its fantastic set and costume design, quirkiness, and downright fun.

Possession - Gundumb
The NAFC crew talks about their cine-softies and what types of movies they hate to watch, and get into the cancellation of several good animated shows on Netflix. Then, after reviewing some recent anime series, they launch into Mox's cineboner pick Possession, a very European 1981 thriller, and get into the brilliant performance of the lead actress, the pirouetting, and the child neglect.

Bottle Rocket - Woooooow
The crew welcomes in the new year by recounting some past wildlife encounters before Zea updates all with her take on Turning Red and her motherhood is brought into question. Gibbs gives his own "turning red" account from allergy shots. NAFC then caps off the theme of "Breaking Bad" with Zea's pick of Wes Anderson's very first film from 1996, Bottle Rocket, where they talk about the charm of the Wilson brothers, an emerging Wes Anderson filmography, and if you need to know Wes Anderson before watching this movie.
