Customer Reviews
Good for grokking
They read the books so you don’t have to (unless you want to). Great podcast for getting a deep yet digestible sense of what a book or writer is all about. You can kind of get the essential knowledge of the canon and history of literature delivered in friendly conversation form. Gotta appreciate the hours of prep they put in to both read the books and also do research into the context and subtext. If you’re into literature, it’s kind of like a great service they provide, filling in the gaps of the stuff you either haven’t read or (in my case sometimes) have read and forgot.
Check it out bibliophiles!
They’re right, it’s not just any bookclub. Episodes are focused on theme and cover several books. There’s quality discussion and analysis of the books without spoiling them. Each episode will make your to-read list longer, which is never a bad thing. If you’re a fan of books subscribe now!
Great conversation and depth of knowledge
Started out with the Bookends “Citizen Kane” special. Pierce and Justin had great chemistry and it’s obvious their knowledge isn’t limited to just books. It’s easy to slide into the conversation and feel included. The genre discussions are phenomenal and pretty funny at times. Great show!
