Born into a modestly wealthy family and first married Daniel Park Custis, a wealthy planter, upon his death, Washington inherited his estate and wealth, making her one of the wealthiest women in the colonies. She then married George Washington and supported him during the Revolutionary War. As First Lady, she established many traditions still valued today. The hosts explore Washington's role as a gracious first lady and her relationship with slavery, particularly the escape of Ona Judge. Next, Miriam introduces the work of Catholic nun Mother Teresa (Albanian, 1910–1997). They explore the good work of Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity in helping the poor and sick in India, providing medical support, birth control, and basic necessities to those in need, as well as the controversies surrounding her views on ​​abortion and divorce, and allegations of poor hygiene, mismanagement of funds, exaggeration, and a cult of suffering.
