In this episode of the podcast, Don Self and I discuss out-of-network billing including:
The differences between in-network and out-of-network billing, as well as the advantages and disadvantages for providers and patients. Episode #72 Should you treat friends, family & staff
Do you ever get requests to provide medical treatment for friends, family, or staff? Many providers get that on a regular basis, in the office, and at social and sports events. But the question is, should you?
This episode of the NP Business Matters podcast was inspired by an NPBO™ Member who was looking for a policy on treating staff in her practice. This question comes up not infrequently on social media as well.
The answer to this question is not easy and one needs to take into consideration the ethical and legal implications of doing so.

For nurse practitioner practice owners who are looking to boost their income, there are several strategies they can implement to achieve their goals. Whether it's increasing Relative Value Units (RVUs), expanding services, improving patient retention, or becoming more efficient at coding, and collections, there are many ways to maximize revenue and grow the practice.

WOW!
Wow! Episode 28 with Dr. Hardy was everything I needed to hear going into this work week. I am not an NP, but I do work in healthcare as an MLS, (ASCP). Dr. Hardy’s professional and personal experiences resonated with me as woman trying to elevate herself in the medical field, while balancing everyday life. Thank you for such an incredible interview!
Episode 33: Hard to listen to
Wow. I have to assume this upload was a mistake. This episode was littered with awkward pauses, restarts, etc. Overall the podcast isn’t too bad, could do without the cheesy light jazz intro music, but otherwise appreciate the content and discussion usually.
