    Omnipod® 5 as your diabetes partner: support that adapts to you (featuring Dr. Eden Miller)

    How can AID systems like Omnipod 5 ease the mental burden on patients living with diabetes? To find out, Beyond the Bolus hosts Nancy Hanna and Dena Gottesman handed over hosting duties to our international colleague, Kate Neal, who was at ATTD in Amsterdam speaking with Dr. Eden Miller, a family practitioner, diabetologist, and co-founder of Diabetes Nation.    Dr. Miller shares her perspective (as both a healthcare provider and a person living with diabetes), explaining why she considers Omnipod 5 to be a “diabetes partner” – one that adapts and helps patients live more freely with less mental burden. They discuss how customizable glucose targets, setting adjustments, and the Custom Foods feature provide patients with a personalized and supportive experience.   Kate and Dr. Miller take a closer look at the SECURE-T2D study, which evaluated the use of Omnipod 5 in adults with type 2 diabetes. Dr. Miller outlines the key results and reflects on how the findings are already transforming her clinical practice.    You’ll also hear stories from Dr. Miller’s practice, such as a 78-year-old patient who was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and a 9-year-old who is learning independence - and managing type 1 diabetes – with the help of the Custom Foods feature. Dr. Miller  brings a practical, person-first approach to care, whether she’s breaking down barriers to technology, helping patients build confidence, or supporting them through the emotional side of diabetes.

    Digging into the SECURE T2D publication data: diverse patients, powerful outcomes

Featuring a diverse population of participants with type 2 diabetes, the study revealed significant A1C reduction1, especially for those participants with baseline A1C above 9%. We also explore the simplified bolus strategies used to support patients, including those not carb counting at the start of the study.
