    On the History of HIV in Medicine with Dr. Volberding

    San Francisco is often thought of as the birthplace of advocacy and innovation in combating the HIV epidemic. Dr. Volberding not only took care of one of the first patients with HIV in the country, but he also was the co-founder of Ward 86, the world’s first HIV/AIDs specialty clinic.
