    26. Give It a Rest

    26. Give It a Rest

Winter is setting up shop in Johnson City, which makes it a perfect time to sneak away before Christmas!

In this week’s episode, Kelly welcomes fan favorite co-host A.R. back to the show to cover a full menu of topics. This week’s show comes to you from the road, as the Rhea clan heads south on an epic road trip to cheer for Jack in the South Beach International Amateur.

But it’s not a straight shot to Miami for our intrepid podcasters. They’ve booked a short stopover on the Georgia coast to acclimate to warmer temperatures and sneak in a few holes of golf.

This episode has plenty of stories for you to enjoy. First up, the family welcomes a long lost stranger back to their home...and it’s not who (or what) you might think. And the main topic for today’s show is REST. Rest is a big buzz word, but we get mixed signals about how much rest, if any, we should be getting. Kelly and A.R. share their thoughts about rest, and even why it’s hard to feel rested on a vacation.

And make sure you stay to the end of the episode because you’ll want to hear about A.R.’s misadventures getting a haircut on the road.

    23. Jennifer Enloe from Cakes to Live By

We’ve got the recipe for a great podcast, and today we’re serving up an episode you’re going to love. Like any great dish, we start with the best ingredients: Anna Ingram and Traci Stone in the co-host chairs, and the supremely talented Jennifer Enloe from Cakes to Live By as our guest.

We pre-heat today’s episode by catching up on what’s been happening over the last few weeks. Anna tells about landing a perfect dress for a big occasion on a recent trip to Atlanta. Then Kelly recaps her visit to the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas.

Just as the show gets ready to cook, the ladies unpack an exquisite charcuterie board from @jcfromage in Johnson City. Your appetite will be roaring by the time they’re done going over the board, and that’s not even the main event!

The main feature of today’s episode is Jennifer Enloe, one of the most creative and in-demand cake makers in Johnson City. Jennifer can do *anything* with butter, flour, eggs, and icing and her cakes always add just the right touch to any event.

We’re so crazy about Jennifer’s cakes that we’ve teamed up with her for a cake giveaway on Instagram. To win a cake from Cakes to Live By, simply follow these steps:

    22. Lisa Tipton from Families Free

Fresh off her interview with Kathy Baty highlighting breast cancer awareness, Kelly is back with another interview with a compassionate woman making a difference in the community.

Today’s episode features Lisa Tipton, executive director of Families Free. Families Free is a non-profit that provides treatment, intervention services, employment, and support for women and families affected by substance abuse, incarceration, and domestic instability.

In the episode you’ll hear how Lisa laid the groundwork for starting families free by working as a social worker supporting kids with incarcerated parents. You’ll love hearing about the early days of Families Free, when one-by-one, the right people showed up at just the right time to help Lisa get the organization off the ground.

And make sure you stay to the end to hear about Storie House, a very special home that’s putting young women back on their feet.

Listener Since Day 1

Love your podcast! I’ve been a listener since episode one with The Lady. I hate to point this out, however I feel that it’s important. In this episode I feel that you and Dani are encouraging travel amidst the current pandemic. We are getting COVID-19 case each day, and into the 10s of 1000s per day for some states. I felt that the talk about Danis recent trip and about the use (or lack there of) of a mask while traveling, is very uneducated and dangerous to encourage your listeners to do the same. You reach a good amount of people with your platform and that means a lot when things such as public health and politics start getting involved. I would just appreciate more encouragement to take the right precautions instead of encouraging people to fly without mask, ect.

Other than that I love your podcast!

P.S. Dani you shouldn’t worry about what your child May things when they see you with a mask on. This is for the health and safety of mankind.
