    22. The History of YouTube, Part 1

Do you know why the YouTube logo is red? Any thoughts on what Janet Jackson has to do with the creation of the platform? Oh YouTube, the website we know today as a resource for your instructional videos on how to make everything from cabinets to bongs, or watching video game walkthroughs, or perhaps even comedy sketches, started with a completely different reason in mind. We get into it.

Great Insight

I really enjoy the different perspectives each host brings to the table. As someone chronically offline, the majority of these topics are entirely new information for me. Interesting to hear the old internet described through a lens of nostalgia that I myself did not possess. I’ve only ever listened to the audio though, so maybe I should try to catch the stream as well. Great job!

Great concept, even better hosts

This is like a portal back to the most nostalgic era in my life- the dawn of the internet! Not only are the hosts of OTOTI preserving early online memories in a (sometimes wacky, sometimes poignant) audio time capsule, it’s funny and thoughtful- the two things I most look for in a podcast.
