To help find the answers Joe Smithies speaks to the doctor, author and broadcaster Dr Radha Modgil, who has a lot of expertise in this area and Alex Holmes, who is deputy Chief Executive of the Diana Award, where he works with young people on anti-bullying initiatives.
We also speak to three teenagers who are anti-bullying ambassadors from the Diana Award about their own experiences of bullying in the digital playground.
