Operations - Marie Roberts

Okay Now What - From Learning to Earning

In this podcast episode, Marie Roberts of "Push for Change" (www.pushforchange.ca) explains how she approached the operational challenges of planning a walk across Canada in support of youth homelessness that lasted 17 months. The task of making literally hundreds of decisions, plans, contingencies, etc. would be an enormous undertaking for anyone. Marie captures the driving force of this initiative in a phrase she uses: "We were obsessed more than we were disciplined." Her husband, Joe Roberts, was formerly homeless and chose to walk and talk along the way - but Marie was responsible for making all of the decisions and operational decisions.
