Little Gold Men by Vanity Fair

This gang of critics is box office. Get them a little gold statuette!

I enjoy much of their take on Oscar worthy films and actors. But this podcast loses its credibility when they push certain films and actors that fit their desire for ‘representation.’ They’re quick to imply racism when their chosen actors and narratives don’t get the accolades. It’s a turnoff for an otherwise interesting program.

While I’m still listening and enjoy the still-existing pundits, this week’s Roundtable discussion, in particular, seems so clinical, has an personality of “I’m just doing my job,” tired, and not remotely interested. Who’s picking the topics? Can we have some more guests? I assume it’s the higher-ups/production level, not on-air talent, driving this new format and—as someone who’s been listening for years—please don’t try to force a square block into a circle hole.

Sadly I’m unsubscribing after hearing the news of Katey being “reassigned”. I love Richard and the rest of the hosts but she’s the only reason I ever listened to this podcast to begin with. I’m gonna follow my girl wherever she goes. Good luck with the show and hopefully the people at Vanity Fair stop trying to “fix” things that weren’t broken.
