Launched in 1995 by Purdue Pharma, Oxycontin is a Schedule II narcotic that changed the face of pain in America, and not for the better.

They claimed their opioid was different. Their reps fed this information to the doctors. The doctors prescribed, and the rest is history. A history that can be understood by statistics.
